HanoiVillan
I hate it when people start talking about 'broad left coalitions'. These parties are not just different versions of each other. They exist as separate entities for a reason. What price do you think the SNP would want for joining such a coalition?

a m ole
High numbers of registrations to vote since the announcement, and a big majority of them are people between 18 and 34. Could be pretty interesting considering that demographic was massively anti-brexit. Edited April 22, 2017 by a m ole
Wainy316
Least bank holidays in Europe and good old Jezza looking to remedy that with four new ones. Now who the **** wouldn't vote for that?!

JB
"Tories the party of lower taxes" then. Don't worry about those crippling school budgets, disability benefit cuts and all that other stuff, though. As long as we don't have to pay more tax. They really know their audience don't they? Seriously, how can anyone think that this is ok? If that wins your vote then you're a word removed. I honestly believe that this election is there for the winning for a decent socialist opposition with a coherent message communicated clearly, pointing out exactly what the Tories are doing. It really is a shame (to put it mildly) that Corbyn is making such a monumental balls of it.

HanoiVillan
To be fair, more holidays is a banner I'll go to war behind.
HanoiVillan
For those sufficiently engaged to actually care, Anthony Wells has made some handy lists showing seats that are likely to change hands. These are seats that could fall from Labour to Tory with a 10% swing: These are the Tory seats that could go Lib Dem with a 10% swing: These are the Labour seats that might go Lib Dem: All credit to the author: http://ukpollingreport.co.uk/blog/archives/9838

Awol
Andrew Marr show, Corbyn given an open goal: 'would you authorize a drone strike to kill the leader of ISIS?' He still couldn't bring himself to say "yes". Might be time for those backing him to realize he doesn't actually want to be Prime Minister. The bloke is an old school 70s student lefty. They tend not to go in for the extra judicial murder thing, even if it's a proper baddie we're talking about. They generally tend to want to see law rule, which would mean less boom bang spread them over the desert, more order order take him away. Whether that is a vote winner is another story.

In the context of being a PM who is credible on security it's the only story that counts. 'Corbyn wouldn't order killing of IS monster'. I'm sure the Press will be more imaginative tomorrow. veloman
People of a certain age might remember Michael Foot and 'the longest suicide note in history'. I wonder if Corbyn has just taken the top off his biro to try and beat it.
Spoony
Can the author add a poll to this? I know a poll can be started separately but I tried that before for the EU referendum but if you make a poll-only thread it soon slips away as threads only stay up if people post on them. Chindie Posted April 23, 2017 VT Supporter Share Posted April 23, 2017 It isn't happening. He's started reasonably well but he's also started miles behind, as has been discussed over and over. And it's only going to take a few high profile duff answers, or unpragmatic policies in their manifesto, until it starts to go backwards again and all the same old problems that put him so far behind will bubble up again. He's had a decent getaway but qualifying had him on the back row.
