Probably the Beeb had a reporter there for a while to write up a piece on the heroic defence of Bakhmut. The information in the article is probably weeks old but only filed the final article today. The counter attack was just outside the city in the fields to the south. From what I’ve read Ukraine finally got a decent delivery of artillery to the front there and took the Russians by surprise, leading to many casualties (Prigozhin talks about 500 troops killed in his latest video and a whole Russian unit fleeing). The Polish committee said the city and wider area should instead be called Królewiec. This was the area's traditional name, it said, and the decision no longer to use an "imposed name" was partly a result of Russia invading Ukraine.
