The push for the Play offs ?

We won't get anywhere close.

The key is to use this time wisely - get prepared for the summer, when we get in a small number of genuinely quality recruits - not yet another whole squad, but a small number who make a big difference - and get the players used to the manager. We're not going down, or anything like it, so there's nothing to *worry* about, it's just a case of getting the whole club into position to make a big push next season.

Go up now and we will come straight back down.

we won't be going up though.

I'm dizzy, do you mean what you said wont happen or it will but two seasons from now we wont go back up?

Back-to-back home games coming up against Preston and Bristol City. 6 points minimum. By the time we play Brentford away hopefully we'll have a brand new midfield, a right back and perhaps a striker.

Another one hoping for a 'minimum' that is actually the maximum available.

All about next season.

Literally no chance.

Not replacing gestede as a different option and not having a midfielder in place by the 14th jan shows that this is all directed at next season.

Get ready for some roller coaster highs watching bruce's men

The play off ship has now sailed. We'd need around 13 wins from 20 games and a couple of draws and we ain't getting that.

Such a waste as given what we have spent and the standard of this division we should have been well in the mix. Roberto Di Mateo wants f**king.

@HanoiVillan It's silly to be throwing in the towel now. A few quality signings that can settle down quickly would do the world of good. There are basically eight teams battling for spots 3-6. I personally feel we could finish ahead of the likes of Huddersfield, Reading, Fulham and Norwich. We have a good manager that is proven in this division. Winning the play-offs is probably an unrealistic target but finishing in the top six is definitely achievable with the right signings.

To be clear, with the current side and the way we're playing, there's no chance of making the play offs. But I don't think it's unrealistic to put together a good run in the latter stages of the season with some new players in the XI.

How sad are we though. As fans. Here talking and worrying about the result and the predicament our club is in hours after full time. When the players who get payed an absolutely ridiculous amount of money to play for the club have already forgotten about the result and are probably dancing and laughing on the bus home or having a beer. How very sad the world of football has become.

To make it possible we need to

Not play Hutton, Jedinak, Tshibola, Gabby again.

Get in a really good RB, 2 x midfielders, a left winger, Ayew and Kodjia back.

Play 4-2-3-1 with Adomah, Ayew/McCormack, new direct left winger as the 3.

Grealish is nowhere near direct enough and is easily nullified physically.
