David Geddis has a touch of Bjorn Borg about him there!

In that title winner season whenever he was called on, it seemed he always contributed with a goal.  I believe he came from Ipswhich, who, became our closest rivals.

“Magic Merson”.  His winner against Coventry at home and his goal at Everton were special moments for me, as was at both games.

Met him at his book signing in Waterstones. Very pleasant chap.

One of the primary reasons I refuse to "not speak ill of the dead". I'll never forgive the word removed for the industrial estate style eyesore we have in place of that.

I’m sure Merson said that Villa was the only club where he cried when he left. He may of been critical of the team in recent years, but who hasn’t?

Merse is very complementary about  the Villa. I went to a evening with Paul Merson a few years back and you can tell that Arsenal and Villa are the two clubs he most associates with himself. He lived in the birmingham area quite  a long time afterwards as well.  What a player on his day.

Aston Villa 1976/77 squad.

Probably played the most exciting football I have ever seen at Villa Park.

Agreed......a great side and none of this modern day squad system.........when you turned up to watch them you knew who would be playing barring injury.........fantastic times.

Can you imagine a goalkeeper doing the Burridge warm up now 😀
