Fairy In Boots
He's a legend but can anyone tell me his experience in this role? it seems very much a token gesture and Bernstein is too old now. To me it's nothing but PR

Surely we only have deighty (Mr McGrath) He was a gifted player. Had great flair and sublime skills, without the arrogant persona that accompanies so many with those skills today.A player with great modesty, who made his debut in the old Third Division, and as much as anyone helped get us back where we belonged. For Villa fans who remember him, he reminds us of a time when we were on the rise. He was fast, skillful, gifted, he walked on water, and he was ours. Happy memories, welcome home Brian.

Surely we only have deighty (Mr McGrath) Even after all my years of watching Villa Brian Little is still the best player I've ever seen in a Villa shirt. Big call but Brian Little was just so good to watch and bar a career ending injury I'm sure would have been part of the 81 & 82 teams. In fact I know he would as I once asked the main man Ron. Still that didn't stop Ron trying to flog him to the noses when he knew Brian's knee was fubar. I can still see him gliding past people like they weren't there, I'd hoped Grealish could have been "that" player but Jack doesn't have either the pace of the application to become the new "Brian Little". I feel sorry for those Villans who didn't see that late 70's team play, they were so good to watch. Better on the eye than the team that won the league and European Cup imo but obviously the results of Ron Saunder's rebuild went on to bring us our most memorable success in living memory and I wouldn't change that for anything. I just miss those days of watching Andy Gray, Brian Little and John Deehan tearing teams apart.
ClarentInDevon
Really pleased with this appointment. Brian was the manager when I started supporting the club. A really nice guy to boot, and I'm sure inky wnats the best for the club.

But realistically what can he do? Our finances are a mess. The majority of the squad are words removed who aren't good enough, we have a manager who may not be able to cut it in this country and we still have an owner who wants no part of us. So what impact can an advisor really have? I'm hoping that, hypothetically, when the board have a decision to make, like appointing a former blues manager as our boss, for example, he will be strong enough to advise that this maybe a bad move. I think he will....because he walks on water

AstonMartyn88
Ready made interim replacement when Remi leaves as well. I'm delighted that he's back, as someone else mentioned he was the manager when I first started supporting us and he reminds me of happier times. Just hope VT doesn't tear him apart now. MrDuck
I don't care if it's a PR move or not, having Brian Little at the club again is a wonderful thing.

AntrimBlack
Loved him as a player, and he is a Villa man through and through, but I wonder how much influence he can actually have. My preference would be employing people who can do the job rather than a `Villa fan'.

icouldtelltheworld
This smacks of appeasement to me if I'm honest. One of the biggest criticisms fans have had of the Lerner/the hierarchy is a lack of football/Villa men. This just comes across as a token gesture, particularly if he's going to be an advisor to the board rather than actually sitting on it? I could be wrong on the details. It's just hard not be sceptical about news coming out of the club, even when that news seems like it could be positive

Surely we only have deighty (Mr McGrath) He was amazing.....at a time when we were blessed with great international players hence his one cap. He was also a partially eclipsed by Trevor Francis who came through the ranks at the same time.....and Trevor was a great player. Brian was a phenomenally gifted player who with Andy gray and John Deehan caused havoc.....He also had a good partnership with Keith Leonard beforehand. a better manager than given credit for.....a great guy is Brian. Will he be of benefit to us?....yes I think so.He knows the game and loves Villa, hurts when Villa lose, we want them. There are no guarantee's in football. The question is not will he be good for us, because we don't know anyone will.....its more is he right for us......yes he is. Welcome back Bri.....with you around, I have hope the poor decisions will evaporate. Edited March 12, 2016 by TRO

Have you seen what he's been up to for the past two decades? I respect him for what he did in the (distant) past, but he has no place even being a caretaker manager for Villa.
