snowychap
I know it has been mooted for a few days but the confirmation that this utterly clueless load of spoons have appointed Tony Abbott as a trade adviser, well: It's not the accusations of misogynism or homophobia that are the problem here but that he knows the square root of eff all about trade. It seems like they've also appointed Dan Hannan as an adviser to The Board of Trade.
bickster Posted September 4, 2020 Moderator Share Posted September 4, 2020 Oh come on, Tony Abbott, the man that almost completely destroyed the Australian Car Industry is a trade deal messiah

Well, absolutely, though the "accusations" are not exactly helpful, seeing as they're a bit more than accusations. And there's the climate change denial. Basically he's a tube. Another right-wing tube appointed precisely because he's a right-wing tube, not because he's remotely matched to the skill set required.
JB
AP on BJ: Quote I like Boris a lot ... We’re talking about a chap who’s managed to pass himself off as an energetic, sporty ladies’ man despite being morbidly obese with a kind of … I want to say collapsing face? Like that evil rabbit at the end of Watership Down. What can I say, I like the guy! https://www.theguardian.com/tv-and-radio/2020/sep/02/alan-partridge-podcast-interview-boris-johnson-oasthouse

HanoiVillan
Something that pisses me off that shouldn't - but is too bolitical for that thread - is Nick Timothy's Twitter bio: I mean, does he have to? Seems to be loads of these roasters that support us. Don't get me started on Mervyn King, and of course Laid Back Dave himself supports us sometimes, when he doesn't confuse us with West Ham. Absolutely my luck to support the one part of reactionary Britain that *doesn't* win all the time.

I like the royals a surprising amount for a socialist so I count Wills as a plus.

And I reckon that of the 100+ episodes I've listened to, he's the first one I've heard who seemingly had nothing to redeem him. And Forde's interviewed Tommy Robinson, Farage, Galloway, Mogg, Paul Staines and any number of other political degenerates. I've come away thinking better of every Tory scumbag he's had on, until him. Hearing Timothy talk about the Villa (Forde's a Forest fan so they were discussing the Cash transfer) made my skin crawl. I'd highly recommend the podcast in general though. An excellent way to leave one's political bubble.
