If he got injured or wasn't playing much when he played again he was pretty bad with good flashes for 3-4 games. After that he'd get dialled in again and be brilliant. He'll be one of those players that in 10 years time when he's about to retire you'll look at it and wonder how on earth he accumulated around 40m in transfer fees in his career.
