  1. Is this one of those where the agent is using us as a way of drumming up more interest in the player? I'd love Asensio here, but surely there's many other clubs in the Champions League who'd be in front of us? Not selling us short, I just think we've been down this road before when linked with big name players. If he signs for us it'd be incredible though.
  2. Michael Barrymore. King of TV in the 90s.
  3. I understand that point of view entirely, and I watch in the hope it can be good again, which it is from time to time. I also watch with my 11 year old boy as I remember the spectacle of seeing the undertaker debut when I was 9. It was incredible, and I hope for him to have a memory like that. It's not that reasoning I disagree with, it's the childish sniggering I don't like.
  4. Sorry to go off topic but I don't get why people poke fun at people who like wrestling. Yes, we know it's scripted and badly acted. But it is just harmless fun. It's no more fake than movies, TV, or books. Do you assume people who watch the walking dead think zombies are real?
  5. Feel sorry for JJ on missing out on a nomination for young player of the year, especially since two of the players on the list spent significant parts of the season injured. He's been very good since Unai arrived, and scored quite a few too. https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/arsenal-premier-league-young-poty-30013264
  6. Surprised he lasted as long as he did, he was heavily on steroids for a long time. Along with Hogan, also Ric Flair, Dusty, and Jesse Ventura always said they were influenced by him too. What a legacy. Not too many of those 70's superstars left now.
  7. Think this is done. Real have got to play with a higher line in the 2nd half. De Bruyne will put Haaland into space time and again then.
  8. Wonder if we'll see this anywhere else? Only way to stop Max winning it seems...
  9. I used to go and watch Wasps at the Ricoh fairly often, and more often than not we'd go to the pubs near the ground for a few hours before hand. Quite often there'd be football on in the pubs, and I always remember being in one of those pubs for the Villa Blues game when Gary Gardner scored a header for us. When we scored they turned the match off. Massively sour grapes. I think they feel they're like the "brother" club of the great unwashed. I really hope they don't come up, we don't need their unhealthy obsession on match day. They'd cause loads of bother.
  10. Apologies if bin dunne anywhere else, but this is too funny not to share. Caution, NSFW, heavy language.
  11. Double over "Sky 6" spurs. That'll do Unai, that'll do.
  12. A decision like this has been coming all game. The ref hasn't been corrupt, but he's reffed the sides very differently. Most decisions have gone spurs way, I'm just surprised he didn't give the pen straight away before VAR.
  13. Normally I'd agree on this point, but it's been Newcastle's MO all season. Good to see them on the recieving end.
  14. Neither side are going to be Champions League next season and that's what Emi wants, hopefully with Villa in his own words. I can't see him going to either club whilst they're not playing in Europe's top comp.
  15. I think there's a lot of space between what he's doing now, and the actions you suggest. Warning him that the answer should at least have something to do with the question would be a good start, and then raising the stakes from there. The speaker often warns the backbenchers to calm down so they can hear the answer, but what's the point if the answer is nothing to do with the question? It's beyond stupid. It's like diving in football, no action is ever taken and there's now a no loss scenario for the diving player. As @Genie said, it was the same with Boris and is being allowed to continue. Also, some of the questions asked are obviously about political point scoring, but a lot are some I would love to hear answered correctly. The arrogant and childish avoidances just further illustrate that the Tories have no plan to help the country, imho, and certainly take no responsibility for the current state it's in.
  16. I really wish Lindsay Hoyle would tell Rishi to answer the non-Tory questions properly. PMQ's is an utter farce, and incredibly useless in its current format. I know he's a Labour MP and this could go in that thread, but he doesn't hold the PM to account at all. Is there a rule in place that stops the speaker from pulling a PM up on avoiding questions?
  17. Not twitter, left leaning journalists for national newspapers certainly. There will be bias, no doubt, but I'll never base an opinion on the twitter echo chamber. Your last point about money going to Tories kinda reinforces the point I'm making. Inequality of wealth will always benefit those already powerful. The royal family are far from the only example of this, but are probably the easiest example of it.
  18. Of course I've heard of the princes trust, and the trust does fantastic work. You could call it the Jasper Carrot trust for all I cared though, it's the people that work in it that make it what it is. My point is that in any point in history the distribution of wealth has always been unequal, never more so than now. An example of this would be that it's been widely reported government money for food banks has been redistributed for the ceremony on the weekend. All because of inherited power.
  19. After witnessing the over the top events of the last few days, I keep coming back to one question? What does the royal family actually do for us that actually makes a difference? We're expected to be happy and swear allegiance, but what is the benefit to us plebs? It seems they get all the benefit whilst giving nothing to the working people. Throughout my life I've been fairly royalist, I served in the Army for 6 years, but the older I get the more inherited power really bothers me. The rules and traditions we have in place for the royals seems only to benefit the already rich and powerful. I heard mentioned many times that the celebration was supposed to be an important morale booster for the country. But why do we need that booster? Imho is because there's never been greater inequality. Inequality in many forms, especially wealth. And Charles and co are the personification of that wealth inequality. And they don't do a thing to help.
  20. I don't agree with the original posters views, and sincerely hope you're right, but I don't expect much traction on this from the Tory led media. Who in the mainstream media in your opinion will run with it? Genuinely interested in your opinion.
  21. The Mercedes car just seems to get worse. Hamilton and Russell are doing a great job getting it to where it is. They've never been further behind red bull in recent times. I just wish red bull had a number 1 driver that wasn't a complete arse.

I still think they're a good manager away from being a top team. Unbalanced squad currently but when some of their loan players come back it'll look much better. Some of the young players they've signed over the last 3-4 years have been highly coveted too. I just don't think we should be consigning them to the scrap heap just yet. I also don't see how the owners won't look to bring in better "football" people to realign them off the pitch too, when the season ends.
  23. Can't wait for 1730 when I can shut down and play this. Takeaway booked, wife and daughter going out. My son and I will be playing this all evening.
  24. Reading the comments on an article on the BBC about Unai, it seems a fair number of fans are quite agreeable with grouping Gerrard and Lampard as managers with a similar ability. Great to see other team's fans waking up to this.
