  1. TBF Tamworth have just won the league. A Southgate side will never do that.
  2. You just know he's going to play two holding midfielders against the might of Malta and North Macedonia. And the fullbacks will only be permitted over the halfway line twice in the entire game. Dull and uninspiring.
  3. No, I'd be too busy crapping myself I'd be caught out, sacked, taken to court, and finally imprisoned.
  4. I understand that there's no reason or precedent for this, but morally and ethically the Tories should go to the country in my opinion. They're a complete mess.
  5. There's got to be a general election now. The Tory infighting is only going to get worse, and you can bet your bottom dollar Johnson will go full scorched earth to get back at Sunak and anyone remotely against him. Sunak is going to be more concerned with fighting Bunter than talking with striking doctors, sorting the cost of living crisis etc... People have had enough and want a fresh start.
  6. PSG have signed him for the social media side of it. The South Koreans will be all over the merchandise and the follows. They're losing Mbappe, and have already lost Messi. Sportswashing in action baby.
  7. If he takes Carragher with him to be his assistant I'd forgive and forget everything he did here.
  8. Just playing devil's advocate, as I think City are the definition of cheating, but have they been forced into cheating? With FFP lifting the drawbridge to the elite level, how else could they have got to the level they are? I want Villa to get there too, bit we'll never in be in the market for players at the top clubs unless we develop them ourselves. I'm not saying we should cheat, but rather I don't know how to close the gap. The money the regular sky 6 get from Europe, consistently higher league finishes, and much greater sponsorship, just increases the gap between them and everyone else. I personally think clubs should be able to spend what they like so long as the debt is leveraged against the owners, rather than the clubs.
  9. I hate that City are here, but my 11 year old son is really excited for this game, for him it's like an FA cup final game in the 90s for me. He's been watching coverage on and off all day. Sadly, I expect this will be how younger fans will react as standard. He's looking forward to seeing all these top players on the grandest stage. He does not care about the financial side of it one iota. I've tried talking to him about it but it either goes over his head or he doesn't believe it because sky don't talk about it.
  10. Tony and his fat mate, Keith Wyness. Absolutely the worst people involved in the business side of the club. Doug was bad, but he wasn't inept. On the playing side, Charles N'Zogbia ranks high on the worst list, with notable mentions of Lescott, Richards, and The Snake in recent years. Then before that it's Dwight. I totally and utterly agreed with John Gregory. He did us dirty.
  11. .I too get this, but it's caused by anxiety and stress. When I sleep I grind my jaw because of them, and it causes aches, pains, and tinnitus in my ears.
  12. Took the kids to see across the spider-verse today. As the poster above states, excellent film. Gives lots of service to the fanboys like me, whilst still being an outstanding film for the casual fan. The animation was truly incredible. I've never seen a film like it. They took what they did in the first and absolutely took it to the next level and then some. There's a lot of heart in there too, and without posting spoilers, it leaves you wanting much, much, more.
  13. Boris and Co's WhatsApp messages surrounding the Covid enquiry being redacted and withheld for now, and the deadline for a decision on this extended until Thursday. This stinks. It's like one of us being in court and our barrister asking for evidence to be removed because it makes us look bad. I'd love to know what the messages say. Heard somebody on the radio jokingly say it could be because there's an admittance of a one night stand between Nadine Dorries and old bunter In all seriousness, as bad as you or I could imagine the messages to be, they'd probably be worse. Yet another case of one rule for us... And yet people are still going to vote Tory.
  14. Is this one of those where the agent is using us as a way of drumming up more interest in the player? I'd love Asensio here, but surely there's many other clubs in the Champions League who'd be in front of us? Not selling us short, I just think we've been down this road before when linked with big name players. If he signs for us it'd be incredible though.
  15. Michael Barrymore. King of TV in the 90s.
  16. I understand that point of view entirely, and I watch in the hope it can be good again, which it is from time to time. I also watch with my 11 year old boy as I remember the spectacle of seeing the undertaker debut when I was 9. It was incredible, and I hope for him to have a memory like that. It's not that reasoning I disagree with, it's the childish sniggering I don't like.
  17. Sorry to go off topic but I don't get why people poke fun at people who like wrestling. Yes, we know it's scripted and badly acted. But it is just harmless fun. It's no more fake than movies, TV, or books. Do you assume people who watch the walking dead think zombies are real?
  18. Feel sorry for JJ on missing out on a nomination for young player of the year, especially since two of the players on the list spent significant parts of the season injured. He's been very good since Unai arrived, and scored quite a few too. https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/arsenal-premier-league-young-poty-30013264
  19. Surprised he lasted as long as he did, he was heavily on steroids for a long time. Along with Hogan, also Ric Flair, Dusty, and Jesse Ventura always said they were influenced by him too. What a legacy. Not too many of those 70's superstars left now.
  20. Think this is done. Real have got to play with a higher line in the 2nd half. De Bruyne will put Haaland into space time and again then.
  21. Wonder if we'll see this anywhere else? Only way to stop Max winning it seems...
  22. I used to go and watch Wasps at the Ricoh fairly often, and more often than not we'd go to the pubs near the ground for a few hours before hand. Quite often there'd be football on in the pubs, and I always remember being in one of those pubs for the Villa Blues game when Gary Gardner scored a header for us. When we scored they turned the match off. Massively sour grapes. I think they feel they're like the "brother" club of the great unwashed. I really hope they don't come up, we don't need their unhealthy obsession on match day. They'd cause loads of bother.
