  1. I'm not besmirching them, it's just that compared to later and earlier eras, this side, and also the overall quality of the league, wasn't as strong as the majority of teams before or afterwards. I'd take their success without a second thought. They absolutely crashed and burned the following season in the champions league. I seem to remember Le-Saux and Batty having a scuffle during one of the games due to how dire they were. I do think it was a more competitive league though, more teams could have a go at relative success rather than the closed shop of the sky 6.
  2. Probably the worst team to have won the league in my lifetime. A midfield of Wilcox, Batty, Sherwood, and Ripley. Awful. Shearer and Sutton weren't bad though. And Paul Warhurst was amazing that season. I'll always remember the outrage when they made Sutton the first UK based footballer to get paid 10k a week. The Mirror did a feature on what you can buy and for some reason two new Fords featured time and again in the article.
  3. I think what's quite interesting is the reasons why we don't like those clubs. For me, I hate Liverpool, but it's totally because of the fans. Never met a more deluded fanbase who perennially think they deserve and expect success, and who think they know more about football than everyone else. It's a shame, as I actually quite like watching the team under Klopp. Always entertaining games. Most of the clubs I dislike are for similar reasons, especially Spurs and Journo Killer FC. I used to hate Utd under Fergie as they got away with everything, but now I'm not so bothered by them. I like most of the other Midlands and Northern prem teams, as I find you can talk to their fans on match day in the pub. Most of the southerners are prize plums.
  4. My 5 year old daughter has Covid for a second time. Tested positive this morning, with symptoms starting last night. Much worse this time around, she's in been bed crying in pain most of the time. It's really knocked her for six. Last time she had it it was no worse than a cold. I've still not had it yet, although I think I'll be getting it soon as I've been off with her the last few days whilst the misses has been in work.
  5. Stick a fork in the bin dippers, they're done. Suicidal tactics against this team.
  6. I watched this, and whilst it was absolutely hilarious and a pretty accurate piece of commentary, I thought the end scene where Harry asked Meghan to come with him for a normal life was utterly savage towards Meghan. I won't spoil it for anyone, but I thought it was harsh.
  7. The demand for AI keeps growing and growing. Those annoying chatbots when you want to log an issue with your broadband provider? There's now a chatbot for voice calls too. Over the last few years I've increasingly rolled out more chatbots for WebChat, Email, and WhatsApp into various contact centers. The technology is now there for voice, and companies are embracing it. Soon it really will be impossible to speak to a real person when dealing with your day to day issues.
  8. I don't know what's worse, all the rubbish that Lee Anderson comes out with, or that the Tories see him as representative of the working class and therefore a link to so many they're out of touch with. I can't imagine many truly working class people being enamored with 30p Lee.
  9. In an effort to prove there's no witch-hunt, City to get maximum assistance from VAR and the ref today whilst we get absolutely nothing. Bit worried about this one.
  10. You're exactly right. I just think there's something incredibly morally wrong in legally threatening people when you're in the wrong, they're telling the truth, and what I believe is something the public had a right to know about.
  11. I went to see Tenacious D many years ago, and he's a terrific performer too. Amazing presence.
  12. Zahawi has been sacked from his role, but not as an MP. This is utterly shocking. I've been watching the reports this morning and there's been very little mention of his threats to the reporters who were going to highlight his tax avoidance, they seem to be focusing on him not informing the right people when he knew HMRC was investigating him. He needs to be shown the boot entirely. He's another Tory who's been proven to be a lying piece of shit not fit to be an MP. No remorse for what he's done. I doubt he's even sorry he's been caught.
  13. Downloaded a patch so I could play using teams lower than conf north/south, and have guided Tamworth to league 2. As soon as I get there the majority of my first IX have been targeted by championship clubs. Had to sell so many as they want to leave and confront me if I turn the offers down. Not looking forward to the season. I have no (decent) midfield, and the board won't give me the cash to replace them. Feels like the game wants to pull the rug from under me. Worst thing is I turned the Blackburn job down so I could have a crack with Tamworth.
  14. Lovely headline from the Heil and The Tories today https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-11665761/Covid-convinced-Brits-Tories-claim.html#comments If we're going down the something for nothing route then there's likely to be 356 sitting MP's milking second and third jobs, cash for PPE that never worked, questionable tax methods, dodgy donations, and links to Russian money off the top of my head. They love kicking the poor and the foreign. Oh, and the headline is totally inaccurate too. It's an estimate based on not what people directly receive, but a total guess based on what they believe people are getting from secondary sources such as treatment from the NHS. Really boils my piss, yet people will read this and happily blame the poor, unemployed, immigrants, and those with health issues for some of the issues we have. Utterly disgusting and another way of keeping people from unifying.
  15. Really good so far. Can't believe we didn't get a pen. Movement through the middle of them has been very good. Unlucky not to be in front.
  16. 19 years old, already capped 3 times for Colombia. He's hardly likely to be a donkey considering some of their forwards like Muriel and Diaz. Don't know anything about him, but I'm optimistic. I don't think Unai would accept a dud.
  17. Eddie Jones straight back into the head coach role at Australia. 5 year contact. Bit harsh on Dave Rennie I think who's been sacked. Had them playing decent rugby but lost a lot of games due to injuries and a small talent pool. They ran France, Ireland, and New Zealand close with a decimated squad. Eddie is going to benefit from the groundwork laid by Dave. Be interesting if we draw Australia at the world cup.
  18. Kamara is an absolute star. If he's with us in a few years we'll have gone places. Fast becoming the main man in the middle of the park.
  19. How many passes have we strung together in a single sequence? Retention has been awful.
  20. We're struggling to match the intensity and pace of the Leeds press. We're going to get caught.
  21. If PIF really have purchased WWE and Vince stays as chairman I can see WWE being dead within a few years. No US broadcaster will want to pay the Saudi's to show their product; they'll go to streaming only. Any partnerships will be dissolved, and a lot of talent will look to go elsewhere as was the case until HHH took over creative. Some of the legends won't appear in the future so not to tarnish their image by associating with the Saudis. Only 1 person will benefit from this. Vince. Bye bye KO and Sami. And Wrestlemania to be in Saudi very, very soon.
  22. Useless. Absolutely useless. As bad as Bradford under Lambert. Disgraceful. Half arsed. Games like this makes me wonder why I bother. I can take a loss, I can't take a dire performance like this.
