Hiroshi Kiyotake

He doesn't have a release clause and the club told us they will not be selling. We have moved on.

It only came up again because someone asked about it in the fan forum and the Mirror did a story based on that. Then the German paper did a follow up on the Mirror story.

^^^^^^^

This .....end of IMO

Our corners have been shite since Young left, would be great to have a decent set piece expert in the squad.

they werent really great when he was here either, I remember some of his deliveries near the end were hopeless. they became shit when Laursen left as he would attack anything in the air

I think we still scored a few in 09/10 while Carew was interested but you're right they went to shite in 10/11 when under new management he seemed to be told to just float them in which I never understood.

KEA seemed to be taking a few against Walsall for some reason but currently the best at the club is Westwood given Benteke scored from a couple of his deliveries last season. That's another thing, how many more goals would Christian Benteke score if the corners were more consistent in pace and accuracy?

FC Nuremberg have made a statement about Kiyotake:

http://www.nordbayern.de/nuernberger-zeitung/nz-sport/kiyotake-club-bleibt-standhaft-1.3081820?rssPage=MS4gRkMgTsO8cm5iZXJn

Translated via google translate to:

"NUREMBERG - Even though Aston Villa really should have twelve million euros for Hiroshi Kiyotake - at 1.FC Nürnberg wants to remain steadfast and not let the Japanese move.

"The fact is that we have received no new request. So we do not deal with it, "said Club Sports Board, the circulating rumors, the English Premier League club was still keenly interested in signing the attacking midfielder and has increased its offer emitted weeks ago. Bader further. "We have the players also clearly stated that we plan to continue with it," Finally, the 23-year standard specialist is the first FCN still under contract to June 30, 2015.

It remains unclear whether Noah Korczowski is loaned out to second division Erzgebirge Aue. The 19-year-old defensive talent last completed a two-day trial with the Saxons. Bader, who was with the DFL-General in Berlin on Wednesday, wants to put together on Thursday with Korczowski and make a decision."

First two paragraphs are the important parts. People on twitter are thinking Nuremberg are doing this in an attempt to start a bidding war. They know he wants to go to the Premier league, so are trying to get other clubs interested to bump up the price.

out of interest as it was discussed on the first few pages, how much exactly have we been reported to have spent on each player so far? I think our spending to effectively change the entire squad has been considerably modest especially for a big prem club

I do find it weird that, if true that they are so desperate to keep hold off him considering the bid they have got. Is he really that good?

I saw this and it did make me chuckle

Especially this part for all the overthe top Con-haters

Last season at Villa Park the top chance creator was striker Christian Benteke with 51, the most creative midfielder was Barry Bannan with 34 followed by Ashely Westwood with 33.

I think the deal is almost complete but Badher or whatever his name may be is trying to wring more money out of AVFC as they want a winger and a defensive mid. Defensive mid is prolly the position they need to strengthen the most for the upcoming season.

It is kinda like the Benteke saga at Genk but without Kiyo handing in a transfer request.

Is this ITK or just a hunch?

Just a hunch. FCN fans are more than happy with 10 million euros in FCN's transferbudget. They have brought Kiyotake in for 1 million euro's. Profit!

What I really like about him is he looks absolute lightning on the counter attack which is a real weapon for us with our front 3. Salivating at the thought of us getting even better at that aspect of the game.

However he also looks to have a bit of trickery and vision to unlock a tight defence which is the weakest element of our attacking play.

If we do get him and I reckon its still a big IF my optimism for the new season is going to go into overload
