Hiroshi Kiyotake

To me, he'd another option and we can't have enough of those. I don't see him as some kind of wonderkid, because if he was then clubs would be tripping over each other to sign him. But, his skills might give Lambert the versatility he needs to switch play, without compromising the attack. Also, you can't over-emphasise our desperate need for a set-piece taker and Kiyotake looks to have what it takes in that dept.

No one tried to sign Benteke as we know .. And look how is he now .. ^^

Like several good managers at Chelsea for instance who didn't bat an eyelid at prices paid or Ferguson who never overpaid for a player because he wanted him or maybe Madrid who are supposedly going to pay 90 plus million for Bale to try and match Barca but maybe the manager wouldn't pay it because he is over priced?

See what i mean Stevo. You are attaching some form of phantom morality to a football manager. If the money is there to spend, he will spend it on the players he wants even if it means paying extra to get that player and football history is littered with it.

Just because Lambert is the manager of our club it wouldn't make him behave much differently from the rest of the managerial fraternity when presented with the right finance.

No I absolutely don't.

You're missing the point, and making new ones. I'm done trying to explain it. Everybody else gets it. You can remain the exception.

No stevo i'm not missing the point at all and i'm not 'making new ones' either. My points are relative to one another and if as you say 'everybody else gets it' it doesn't necessarily make it right as we've seen before on VT. Its just different opinions on the subject in hand and as i've tried to show i feel previous history with transfers substantiates my point more so than yours.

I'm going to leave it at that.

I'm not saying it's right. I'm saying others understand what I'm saying.

By your response you've shown you don't understand it. And I'm done explaining it.

Westwood's corners were a bit better. Once we ditched Bannan - we started to look a threat from set pieces.

I think Tonev, Helenius and Bacuna can beef up that side of things, maybe even Luna, Gardener if he plays.

Does anyone know who took set pieces during the friendlies aside from the Gardener free kick.

Young's were far from consistent, in fact although he was awesome at times, I think we have a romanticised memory of how good he was.

In the friendlies I've watched, the free kicks and corners have been taken by Gardner and Westwood. Bacuna might have taken a couple when those two weren't on the pitch, also.

Westwood scored one I think ..

I do feel we still have an interest in this guy, Lambert wouldn't have admitted to making an enquiry for him at the fan's forum if not. In terms of a number 10 though, Lambert did mention that he felt we had a couple of players who were capable there already, in Weimann and Tonev.

If we could get Ireland off the books I think that could increase our chances of a fairly major signing.

Can anyone translate it properly?  I think it says something about Lambert travelling to the US to get the greenlight on the transfer.  Also that we have bid once for him and Bader is not interested in considering our bid?

According to German outlet Bild, Nuremberg want €15M - which is about £13M for Kiyotake.

Neuer Angriff auf Kiyotake

This transfer may well be out of our reach.

He is and will remain unsalable for the club!

Hiroshi Kiyotake (23) has apparently attracted the attention of Aston Villa again. According to information from the British newspaper "Mirror" wants to boost his bid for the standard specialists clearly the Premier League club.

Already a month ago had to last year's tables-15th taken with a 10-million offer a basket (FIG) reported.

Then coach Paul Lambert had traveled to the club owners in the U.S. to get the "green light" for the million offer. Now the club from Birmingham even wants to separate for a commitment by the Japanese equal of six players to have more financial leeway.

But the second attempt, according to the English club manager Martin Bader save (45): "We still have not received an offer. We also do not deal with it. "

Should read: The newly traded quotation from eleven to twelve million euros leave the FCN not be weak. Even the much-cited pain threshold is not reached.

The information is according to BILD well over 15 million Euros. Since Aston Villa will probably have to stretch a little more.

First obvious question is why the hell would PL have to go to the US to get a green light. Phones anyone? Email? Fax? Text?. Video conference? Anyone,? Anyone? Chief Executive called Paul Faulkner. Anyone? If I could be bothered to find the You Tube Ferris Bueller teacher I would but really, how can such a thing be taken seriously?

If Lambert feels he's worth that amount then Lerner will back him.

I cannot understand the viewpoint that because he's £10M+ we won't sign him, we spent £20M last year and another £13M odd this summer without really recouping anything (save a couple of million allegedly for Makoun).

The fact is that Lambert wants value for money and if he doesn't feel Kiyotake is value for money at £13M then he won't pay it but this isn't due to a lack of funding or ambition, in my opinion.

He doesn't have a release clause and the club told us they will not be selling. We have moved on.

It only came up again because someone asked about it in the fan forum and the Mirror did a story based on that. Then the German paper did a follow up on the Mirror story.

More to the point, the article says it's acting on information from the Mirror. How can anyone take that seriously?

So what happened to his 8.5m release clause?

Its been ignored, remember?!?! :D

That's sooooo 6th of august, 2013. Newest from mentioned informant is that kyiotake might have a confidentiality clause in his contract, preventing him from telling the truth about his move to us.

That way nurnberg can just sit back and, as mentioned, ignore the offer. It's the perfect plan!
