Are they really expected to do any better than they have? Think Conte did as well as they could hope for. That run under Poch was them punching above their weight, especially reaching the CL final.

4th to 6th is where they belong as far as I see it. Maybe 7th if Newcastle stay on course.

They lost 26 games in the last season and the 3 months that Poch was in charge the following season including losing 7-2 at home

They were definitely right to get rid, Mourinho lost 23 games in his 16 months at Spurs and Conte the same in 15 months

My Spurs supporting mates slate Levy, theyve just all convinced themselves its Levys fault.

In the Premier League before Levy arrived they had never finished above 7th and 6 of the 9 preceding years were 10th or below.

Levy became Chairman in December 2001 and in the full 21 seasons he has been there they have:

Top 6 14 times (7 of those top 4)

Not finished below 8th since 2009.

That consistency has bread the expecation to challenge, they are closer than most but to blame Levy for not is ridiculous. Even simple stuff like them wanting to spend more money, based on income alone they have been punching above their weight.

Heads had gone under poch, they weren't performing for him

Same under jose

Same under nuno

They're like Chelsea, mentally weak set of players underperforming (with usually not that great a squad either, good 11 but not a great 25) and watching the manager take the flak

Spurs are funny, they seem to think because they are in London and have a new ground they are a big club. The reality is they don’t win anything at all ever even with England’s and their own record goals scorer coming through the ranks whom otherwise they would never have been able to afford. They are a mid table team that has been punching above there weight for the last 10-15 years and have a soft mentality within the club and as they have proved no manager not even the serial winners can win anything with them.

They are a big club in terms of revenue raised, which is the most important metric in modern football. They are streets ahead of us in that department. They haven't finished mid-table for years. And despite all of the let's all laugh at spurs talk, they will probably continue to finish above us in the league and qualify for Europe, and have a higher turnover than us for years to come.

Considering how Levy is famous for prioritising income over ambition, you have to question why he's allowing a situation whereby they probably lose out on champions league places. We'd be going mental about this.

Exactly this. Spurs fans have created an echo chamber online, in which they convince each other they're a traditional top club and deserve to win the league. In reality their average league position has never been higher than under ENIC.

Sacked Jose 1 week before a cup final.

Sacked Conte whilst 4th. I predict that’ll end the same way as the cup final.

I mean, they're definitely a "big club" unless we're restricting that to only a very, very select number of clubs who have won the Premier League in the last decade or something.

Levy has done a fantastic job there; I guess he gets ridiculed for not being overly zealous in chucking money around.  Modern football, eh?
