Is it just me or are payday loans not the same as betting?

In fact scrap that - a quick read up on islam and I quickly learn both go against the religion.

Meh, Who gives a ****?

Yes you're right ..

Payday loans + Betting + Gambling are from the same family ..

But the thing is that the main part is about your job .. Are you the one who writes the loans for people ? Or just a security in the bank let's say ?! It's really long thing ..

Anyway about the Toon ..

I'm not understanding do they want Pardew ?! Or want to sack him but couldn't because of his contract ?!

He was the one who cited Religion as the reason not to play in the shirt and then gambled at a casino, nobody else.

Yes, and? Do you see anyone defending Cisse here?

You said (about religion being used) "and this is Cisse's fault?"

And it is. I doubt there's anyone manipulating him into acting the way he is, he's obviously just a bit of a hypocrite.

Did anybody see the interview with the local Imam? Full-on Islamic gear and silly beard, but a Geordie accent, and going on about Wor Jackie, etc.

I know that shouldn't seem funny in multicultural Britain, but it did.

I think the club should up the ante and get some bacon sponsorship.

Yeah, and then some grainy photo picturing him leaving a butchers will appear online.

I always smile when I visit Glasgow for the same reason, because all the Pakistani heritage guys that I encounter sound the same as the auld Glaswegians.

I guess it goes back to the phrase ''the needs or wants of the many outweigh the needs or wants of the few''.

I read the last part as 'Jew' at first then

Yeah, it's pretty much the same attitude, just change Jew to Muslim for this case.

I don't see an issue with doing your best to accommodate everyone's wishes myself. Just because you are in the majority on some issues doesn't mean you always will be, it's nice to consider everyone.

So?  The champagne was a shitty tradition anyway, and there are examples of players getting other prizes for MotM for various reasons.  Michael Owen won a mountain bike once because he was too young to drink!

I think it's more a case of why it was done rather than what was actually done that is the problem. For me it is anyway. This culture we have now of bending over backwards for some intolerant religion out of a fear of offending them. It means everyone else has to change their ways for no good reason. By giving in to these people you perpetuate, validate and encourage their complaints and make them safe in the knowledge they'll get their way. I wonder why I can't be offended by their intolerance. Live and let live. If [insert any religion] doesn't like it then look the other way.

I have muslim customers, and if I am entertaining them or vice versa, I don't drink alcohol out of deference to them. None have ever asked me not too, and in some cases I have been asked if I would like a beer, but for me it wouldn't feel appropriate.

Which only goes to prove there are sane rational people in every religion who are not out to take offence at every opportunity. So why should the zealots get their way at everyone else's expense? The answer is they shouldn't :-/

What happens when the butcher tells the press that he frequently goes there?

What if he's pictured with a sausage hanging out of his trousers?
