Younès Belhanda (Montpellier)

Doubt it, even Sneijder got his wish even if he is more profile player. This is a strange one indeed. But wasn`t this guy like really religious about islam and stuff? Still, what a dumbass, why would you go down there now at this point in your career. Hard to believe that this is where he wants to go. Specially when England was the place he was aiming for. If true, then it is pretty certain that one club will pick him up. On the flip side of that is that I doubt City,Manu,Arsenal,Spurs would be interested in him as they already have players like that. Newcastle is a joke on its own, so it should look pretty good for us when you consider that all the top teams probably will let this one slide. And over here he will get playtime, loads of young players to build upon something special. And he would get to play for the best club in the world, he just doesn`t know it yet.

Benteke won 't like Lamberts statement, clearly he will see this as lack of ambition for the club.

What statement?

That hes  not interessted in Belhanda

Kendrick mentioned it, not Lambert. Wheres the quotes?

Birmingham Mail stating that they 'understand' Lambert is not interested. If we are to believe what the Montpellier President said a few weeks ago, in that we had made a concrete offer, if the deal is dead I would assume it is down to wages.

Brilliant!

Anyway if Belhanda were to join Al-Jazeera, could it not be be something to do with an affection to 1930's Jolson.

Can't be that good if he is bailing to the UAE. what happened to all the top european clubs that were after him?

Tend to agree maybe it was his agent/club trying to drum up interest all along. Frankly if a 23 year old footballer approaching his prime years decides to go and cash in, in the UAE league then I dont really want him anyways.

Reminds me of Asamoah Gyan if he really is going to UAE.

A couple of links in Twitter were still stating that it was out of Villa, Al Jazeera and Kiev. Had a £12.5mill bid accepted and he was in preliminary contract talks with us. Wants to come to Villa but that may be looking unlikely as Villa are now meant to be linked with Will Hughes from Derby. @AVFCagent if you want to check it out.

Just saying that Montpellier accepted a bid does not mean Belhanda will be joining that club. Once he signs for the club, then we can question his judgment. He can easily reject Al Jazira. Besides, only a few days ago he said he'd prefer a move to the premier league.

well, well, well, that Al Jazira's chairman is no other than Sheikh Mansour, owner of Man City.

Ah so the Belhanda bid from them is just a ploy to give them another bargaining chip in the negotiations to take Benteke. /tinfoil

Sounds like his agent has a touch of the Nigel Reo-Coker's
