PieFacE Posted May 3, 2015 VT Supporter Share Posted May 3, 2015 (edited) Really should have scored yesterday. But had a solid game really, wrong blame him for the penalty, was a complete cluster **** defensively and there's several individual and collective errors in the build up to that. DCJonah
He was beaten far too easily a couple of times. Osman had a good chance from being able to walk through him, and I forget who it was but he was easily beaten and had to foul which led to a very dangerous free kick. Luckily Everton wasted it. I'd much rather let Baker, Clark and Okore develop than have Vlaar playing on a regular basis next season.
AntrimBlack
Clark and Okore are undoubtedly our best duo for the future, Clark being the best of our centre backs by a long way. We do need backup, however, and at the right price Vlaar would be that.
AshVilla
I'd rather pay a premium to have Vlaar as backup than sign Steven Caulker on a 3 - 4 year deal woeful player
Supervillan78
I've already come to terms with the fact that he will not be a Villa player next season. However I have also come to the conclusion that he will not be missed either. Edited May 3, 2015 by Supervillan78
VillaChris
Getting linked to Man. United again. We've had his best years I think plus the injuries every other month do my head in. Hopefully we'll get a world up semi final esque performance in the cup final as a swansong.

kurtsimonw
I really rate Vlaar, but he has a nasty habit of making reckless challenges in and around the box. Fortunate they're often so poorly timed he misses the player, could've easily been sent off at Wembley if Coutinho went down before scoring. That's only been a recent thing - I wouldn't call it a habit at all.
Zatman
had a good game again today, if this is the end at least he isnt half arsing it like some players would
Bunnski
He is obviously playing while in pain so he deserves a lot of credit for that and can leave on good terms imo.

AXD
I wouldn't be surprised if he signed a new contract soon. We're now pretty much safe and there aren't any of the top teams really in for him. It wouldn't be the best move to go to a team like swansea or palace over the summer. He knows the club and is pretty sure of regular games here. Of course, he could just want to go back to holland or something.
Stevo985 Posted May 9, 2015 VT Supporter Share Posted May 9, 2015 Absolutely farcical that people were suggesting Ron was uncommitted when playing.
daggy_333
Really want him to sign a new 2 year deal.
villa4europe
2 years leaves him in no mans land when it finishes though, I'd guess he'll want 4/5 years, and I agree with 2, after those 2 years with his injury record I'm not sure it would be worthwhile for us
Zatman
he wont get 4 years off any sensible team. 3 is most he could ask for but 2 still leaves him old enough to get a new deal elsewhere either back home or in Europe

daggy_333
He's 30, that's not particularly old for a CB :-/ I agree his injury record isn't good though.
