Stevo985 Posted January 8, 2013 VT Supporter Share Posted January 8, 2013 I think if Petrov led the team out at Wembley or, getting ahead of ourselves, evenlifted the cup, I'd cry like a little girl.

SquaddieVilla
Unfortunately because our players didn't play with the heart of Stan, we won't be going to Wembley
Pez1974
Bulgaria Prime Minister Boiko Borisov agrees play in a charity match against Aston Villa to raise funds for children with leukaemia. Aston Villa captain Stiliyan Petrov has undergone treatment for the illness. "The match between Bulgarian Stars and Aston Villa will take place on May 25 at the Vasil Levski national stadium," the Bulgarian Football Association say. From the BBC website. Just a shame that it won't be at Villa Park. However, I would expect he will get a testimonial (v Celtic?) and the place will be packed. Bet they score from a corner Support Stan

regular_john
If we are safe come the final game (or, depressingly, already down) I'd love to see Stan come on in the 80th minute and finish his time at AVFC on the pitch.

Would be a fitting end if that's what it is to be. hoaxn
Could be well off the mark, but I thought Petrov returning (even for the last minute) would be a huge insurance problem.

Happy to be proved wrong though. Edit: Googled it, and you're right! He is regisered. happy days. Edited February 6, 2013 by Stevo985
pacbuddies
He is our club captain. Surely you have to be a registered player to hold that position. It's not as if it's some lame honorary thing like Ellis's!
Demitri_C
the players should be ashamed of themselves for the crap he has had to watch they should be fighting on the pitch just like stan is fighting this he is warrior
Zatman
in fariness to the players I think about 90% of them are working hard. they just arent good enough. on Stan I dont think he will be on the pitch for us in a playing capacity again though I do see club keeping him on when he recovers maybe as an ambassador or even if fit enough a coach
