Why do people keep going on about personally abuse? Seriously what on earth are you talking about?

He was told by several thousand people at Villa Park to "**** off" .

What ? Where have you been? It's personal abuse, it's disgusting, it smears the name of all Aston Villa supporters. I want nothing to do with personally abusing the man, hence why I walked out in disgust on the 87th minute on Tuesday night

It affects the players too, did you not consider this ????

Gabby said after Wigan the chants of personal abuse to McLeish affected their performance from 60 mins onwards

There is no place for it

so 30 minutes of the entire season is effected by the fans?

so the previous 34 games where the fans blindly cheered and clapped and supported and the ones who grumbled or moaned were told to be quiet spurred the team on to their glory did it?

all bullshit, running and crying now, if it effected him THAT much, he would not have taken the job after fans protested MORE at news of his appointment, there was more name calling then, more hostility.

shows what a cowardly babboon liar he is

but we knew that anyway

its all there for everyone to see

no doubt he will force more youngsters out in front of the cameras and radio to defend him, like he did a couple weeks ago, snivelling long armed orange furred rough skinned scottish primate

no doubt the same people who keep describing him as 'nice' and 'no need to be horrid to him' will be clapping him and cheering him like some kind of hero, sending him well wishing cards and telling him he was very unlucky and people didnt give him a chance because he came from the scum

i really do wonder some times, maybe they are the same sorts who when a junkie robs a granny at knife point they blame society or the granny for working and having savings rather than the scum whose fault it is?

Aston Villa manager Alex McLeish: "I have had to show my experience and leadership and that has come to the fore. I will not curl up and die. I will persevere to the end as I always have done

:crylaugh::crylaugh::crylaugh::crylaugh:

I saw this quote last night after having a few drinks. Upon waking up I had one of those hazy memory moments thinking did he really say that yesterday. :bonk:

Personal abuse is not a problem.

The man is seriously putting the future of the club we love in real danger. And while we as fans would have to live with the consequences, that prick would walk away with a couple of million pounds for being one of the worst managers we've ever had.

If at the end of the season he held his hands up, admitted his mistakes and walked from the club with no payout then i'd probably feel sorry for him.

The fact is though that scenario is highly unlikely and for me the word removed deserves all the abuse he gets.

In regards to the idea of him trying to sabotage us, it's probably crossed his mind whilst having angry conversations with his wife about the fans being cxnts, but in reality it would do his future managerial career no good. If he keeps us up, he has the 'I kept Villa up even though X Y Z' card to play for future jobs.

There hasn't been any personal abuse though, telling him to FXCK OFF is hardly personal, it's not like there have been any specific abuse towards him as a person, we just want him gone simple as - if the chants were 'could you please step down from your job mate?' it wouldn't really have the same effect would it.

oh do me a favour! It's just excuses and considering what we have put up with this season and the diversity of our fans I'm surprised it has taken this long for people to start saying things. To be honest the abuse is not that bad either, I could imagine a lot lot worse than what is being said at the grounds. If that offends you, you are watching the wrong sport.....

Wrong, wrong, wrong.

The above is simply not true.

What Gabby actually said after the Wigan defeat was;

The chanting doesn’t affect us, we can’t hear it

&

Yes, the fans have to stick with us, but they are sticking with us. The way they turned out in numbers at Wigan showed that.

Here

Then around 14 days later when McLeish came in for some stick following another poor display he completely changed his stance and said the opposite no doubt after a little prompting from someone within the club.

I don't think he'll go at all. Not sure where the confidence has come from.

Where have you been since Tuesday? There is no way back after that, the tide has changed dramatically.

I see that Andy Gray is saying that McLeish can turn things round and should not be sacked.

Andy, you were a great player and I always thought you talked sense. However, on this one you have got it completely wrong. Your opinions wouldn't be influenced by the fact that McLeish is Scottish and an ex Rangers man would they?

As far as personal abuse goes, before getting all worked up about that you have to ask yourself, why is all this abuse happening ? I mean we are not abusing him because we have just won the champions league ? we are not abusing him because we are playing in the FA Cup final.NO we are abusing him because he is on the verge of taking an ever present in the Premier League down to the Championship ! And as far as I am concerned he deserves all the abuse he gets ( its not like he is not getting paid for it )

Sorry but the abuse is vile, grown men within earshot of kids calling him a word removed etc etc.

Fine, if you think that's ok, go for it

well the parents of those kids dont care about their kids, if they did they wouldnt make them go to to the game and force them to watch utter **** shit gutless football each and every week by a tactically inept ginger monkey

that i would suggest is more harmful to the long term development of their upbringing than the odd swear word

those poor **** kids will be having nightmares for years after watching such a shower of shit

or worse, it could turn them away from villa.

what have kids got to do with it. There has always been swearing at football grounds where grown men have gone at the end of their week to watch their favorite team and yes release some tension, drink some beers and catch up with mates. Just because all seater grounds and families have started coming since the inception of the premier league doesn't mean things have to change. Kids hear and see far worse on the school playground, tv, movies and computer games than from the average joe at a football ground.

What if the abuse has gotten to him that much that he now couldn't give a shit whether he keeps us up or not? Think about it. Houllier was given a longer contract and a bigger transfer budget so maybe McLeish is looking at this on a whole and concluding for himself that Lerner hadn't got too much faith in him anyway, seeing that he only gave him a 2 year deal.

He probably already knows he will be gone at the end of the season so why worry about keeping us up? Let's face it, he has been relegated before and still managed to get a top job. Even if he went for another job after taking us down he would still have all his old pals backing him with references stating how he had to lower the wage bill, play the kids, deal with countless injuries blah, blah, blah!

The man could right now be plotting a way to actually lose those last 2 games just to spite us for all the abuse. For me, that is the very reason Lerner should sack him NOW!!

I'm not so sure he would get another job if he took us down. All his friends in the media may still back him but chairmen will know how shit he is, if they didn't know before.

Of course, if he does keep us up then he knows that the media will hype up him up as they always have done.

Trent, I want Mc Leish out like all of you and he had stick coming to him deservingly so, but Tuesday night would not have been nice for him & more so though his wife & son which I reckon is the crux for him.
Good, I hope it wasn't nice for him. He's caused so much suffering and misery this season. The fans have actually been quite easy on him anyway. He's had less abuse than Houllier had despite being so much worse. He's being paid a ridiculous amount of money to ruin our club so I'm finding it hard to have any sympathy with him at the moment.

I'd rather the way it is now then when I went to football as a kid - I've seen more than a few bricks and punches thrown.

The language, both vile and aggressive is pretty disgusting, but as others have said why would you take your children to watch that?

Very damaging.

This is not in defence of McLeish as he is without doubt a very poor manager but i don't think it's accurate to question his integrity. I have friends that socialise with him and they state he is a decent guy. I've no doubt that he's off at the end of the season so now all our energies should be directed at supporting the team.

I am not totally convinced that the Club has decided McCleish will go come what may, although Matt Kendrick who obviously often has some inside infomation, seems to think so. If we go down (and we won't) his positon will be untenable with the inevitable backlash that will follow. If we stay up, it's going to depend on fan reaction, season ticket sales and what plans there are for the summer.

If, as reported, all future planning has been put on hold then it does seem to suggest that another change in manager is at least a contemplated option for an owner and board who will be desperate not to spend more money on manager compensation and manager aquisition compensation.

I miss the old days, I miss the old Holte, I miss the banter......today is just sterile and unemotional compared to back then

His attitude has changed, hand over the camera & sat in the dugout hidden away,I reckon the abuse has hurt him and his family and he has had enough, his pride will get him to see out the season then mutually agree to leave.
There's definitely been a change in his demeanor. I think Tuesday came as a shock to him. He spoke of the silent majority in the past when highlighting how weak any protests were. This majority has found its voice and it wants him gone.
