TBF Keane has only been to most clubs and spoken out loud about how he supported everyone of them as a kidd so that for me shows he talks utter bollocks.

So if he has backed MCleish then its to no suprise more tripe is coming out his mouth.

GOOD GOD are all footballers just thick as **** and majorly overpaid.

Its a pity their stature in money doesn't account for their brain cells sadly its the complete opposite.

How the **** can McLeish have such a mesmerising hold over everyone? Ferguson sent a letter to Lerner saying how amazing he is, our board obviously think he's the dogs' bollocks, you've got players like Keane coming out and saying he can get us to the Champions League and the media thinking he's being unfairly treated by Villa fans.

People need to wise up and realise just how shit he is and just how shit we have become under his management.

The annoying thing is it's the fans who see the real problem, but are blasted as being fickle and lacking in football knowledge when they criticise the manager.

Just get out of our **** club McLeish. You are shit.

Except it's missing the ending.

'...and like that, he's gone.'

I'm fairly certain that Robbie Keane doesn't have a history of taking mind altering substances. I can therefore only deduce that he is laying his marker down for another money making transfer and a return to us. There have been rumours that he hasn't settled in US so he was probably just buttering AM up to give himself at least one option should he decide to quit America

Think it may be Keane trying to engineer his way back to a PL club.

Yes this is exactly what this is. Keane and McLeish have made noises about a summer move between the two parties. It is in Keane's interest if McLeish remains in charge at VP, as if he doesn't then he may not get a move back to the PL.

I like Keane but what he said really is ridiculous. What is it with our Irish players and making stupid comments about McLeish? First Dunne with "McLeish has a winning mentality" and now Keane with "He has done a tremendous job wherever he's been and can get Villa into the Champions League".

The irony is the only one of our Irish players that has been smoking is Stephen Ireland!

He's the Emile Heskey of football management, although that's a bit unfair on Heskey.

N'Zogbia has already stated that it is the first time he has not been happy playing football. I'm sure Ireland wouldn't agree with Keane either so it would be very interesting indeed to find out what our captain really thinks of AM? Not the actual publicity bull that one would expect from a captain of any club, but what Petrov actually thinks?

If the quoted comments actually came from Keane then what would you expect him to say? Hated every moment of my time at Villa because the manager is absolute shite?

Of course he's hedging his bets trying to pave the way for one last pay day in the Premiership!

There seems to be a concensus amongst those in the media and within the game that just because McLeish has a reputation for being respectful and is "a gentleman" then that alone should protect him from criticism.

I couldn't care less if the guy is a genuine saint, I don't particularly care about a manager being a likable person, I'm far more concerned with one capable of doing his job. He can be the biggest word removed in history as long as he gets us results. Ferguson, Wenger, Mourinho? All tossers of the highest order, very sore losers and disrespectful at times. But who really cares?

The other thing that seems to protect McLeish is that officially, yes, he has won things. But SPL achievements are pretty much an irrelevance when it comes to translating that success to the Premier League. And the fact he won a minor trophy with the dogshit is seen as a real acheievment by some mainly due to their dire history and lack of silverware. Every dog has its day, even that lot and winning the league cup is all well and good but getting relegated the very same season surely takes the shine off things? Many within the game don't seem to see it that way. Blues getting relegated is hardly a shock as far as the media are concerned. If he takes us down, it will tarnish his career far, far more. Its unthinkable.

McLeish is as old school as it gets. Pundits, ex-players etc love all that. Its an old boys club to them and its much easier to point the finger at us, the "fickle" fans for getting on his back. We're to blame, apparently, for the negative shite that has us sitting near the bottom of the league.

Get Curbishley in, you want somebody to steady the ship and sort out the football side, get him in.

He is not the bright young thing we would hope for, but he should be able to stabilise the club and try to undo the damage McNightmare is inflicting.

This is like a bad dream, it really is.

Good post.

Agreed .... but the chances are that 3 of the current bottom 5 will go down.

The worry is that if Villa stay up the board might think that AM has done a good job.
