  1. I'm up for it. It was pretty good fun last time until the number dropped off. Am I still the VT Poker reigning Champion
  2. Where you playing live Stevo. I had a pretty similar knock out during my one and only time I played at a Casino. Travelled to Aberdeen on business and was left with nothing to do until I saw an advert for live Poker at the Casino just up the road from the hotel I was staying in. Turned out to be a £25 tournament ended up with about 40/50 people. I played pretty tight and had got myself into a reasonable position, I was about 10th with about 20 left. Got dealt KK in the big blind can't quite remember how the hand played out but I ended up all in against a women who had been showing cards all night and was clearly proud of her bluffing skills. All in came after flop which was rainbow 2 8 J so nothing at all scarey for my KK. She turned over A7 Spades and hit 7 on the turn and unbelievably another 7 on the river. Man I was gutted - in the land of the Scotsmen and displayed the true virtues of an English gentleman's stiff upper lip
  3. Monday / Wednesday are best for me but obviously you will have to arrange it on a day that suit most
  4. When is the next game scheduled for
  5. I'll be in but wont be able to register until after 8pm. Is it the same registration process
  6. Sorry guys didnt get back home til 1030 so obviously missed out, I'm certain I'd have thrashed Coracaigh Are you going to run another one
  7. Glad to see this come back. We have a few games on Full Tilt a couple of years ago. We even had a Villa v Sheff Wed game but I think we got battered. Hope its something that you can keep going it seemed to fizszle out last time. I would like to join but not sure if I'll be back in time on Thursday. What is the lastest time I can join
  8. Dwight Yorke' at Coventry has to be the quickest - I'll always remember this cuz it was my wedding day. I got the master of ceremony to keep me informed (as my wife was expecting my full attention to be on our wedding day ) So when he came to me so early I thought he was winding me up I had no alterative but to enter conversation with him much to my wifes discussed. 'Can't you leave that bloody club alone for just one day' Start as you mean to go on that was always my motto
  9. Last night he he looked as sharp as I've seen him this season until his injury. The change to 3 5 2 is surely with a view to adding width and creating the opportunities we have been crying out for. Benteke with his strength and Bent with his predator instinct seem a perfect match. Our full back played as high up the pitch as wingers last night I can only see positives for Bent in this system. Get him fit and give him a run of games and I'm sure he'll come good again. Its vital that we keep a player of Bent' ability. Benteke Bent Aggy and Weimann give us great opitions up front and should allow Lambert to concentrate on improving other areas of the squad
  10. What a fantastic night. I have to say our support was absolutely brilliant. MOTM for me was Delph. What impressed my most of all was how well we kept the ball and how patient we were. Waiting until the right times to play the incisive passes. Benteke is awesome, he is so vital to the way we are playing and no matter how good I think Bent is, I have to say the manager has got it right with his selection policy. JUst hope we can transfer that form into the league.
  11. Thanks for the feedback guys its proved really helpful, if only to confirm my worst fears thats it's really all about street ced. Strange that when I was a lad I didn't give a toss maybe thats why I turned into this tremendously 'Uncool Dad'. However I do console myself that I did at least get one this right and that was to ensure that the aforementioned junior is claret and blue through and through and the only time he moans at me is for my choice of attire and when I have to tell him that unfortunately there are the few away games that we can't go to. Anyway back to the god damn Beats and one last question. Do I pay the extra for wireless?
  12. OK youngsters I'm seeking your guidance - My 14 year old son has placed his requests for Christmas to my surprise he has asked for some headphones. Obviously being an 'uncool' dad I have no idea what he was after other than the name. Dr Dre Beats mean absolutely nothing to me but i have noticed them on the advertisement on VT. So guys firstly are they any good? Why is there such a price variance? Some are about 120 quid whilst others are 260 and there are some inbetween and some even more expensive. Are they worth the money or are there better options. IS it just the latest thing to be seen 'cool' having
  13. Its a sign of how poor I think we have become - even I a serial SI disliker wanted his inclusion against Arsenal and hope that he is included tomorrow
  14. Unfortunately for DB our Midfield simply isn't good enough to be able to control play and create the kind of chances he thrives on. To try and make us more competative we have had to adopt this system of 4 2 3 1 and to a certain extent (with the exception of Man C) it has been pretty successful. I can certainly see why PL would leave DB out whilst adopting this approach. I also agree that if PL it trying to make a point to the rest of the squad then to leave DB out is also fine. What I can't understand is leaving him out of the squad entirely. If DB is fit then he has to be part of the squad. To leave him out entirely to prove a point is IMO bad management.

IMO Rodigan's post makes an awful lot of sense. The real test will be the January window. If PL continues with his policy of youngsters with potential I'm afraid that there will only be one outcome. Supplement the squad with 2/3 experienced quality premiership performers in key areas (defence/midfield I believe we have enough up top) then we will be fine
  16. My crystal ball is telling me : Early rise Leave at 07 30 Commence the usual activity that is associated with an away day 10 30 Stop at a pleasant hostilary en route 12 30 continue journey 13 30 arrive at Sunderland and head for hostilary 1500 - 1650 endure frustration, boredom, crap football, probably no goals and a defeat endless whinging but a good sing song 1730 commence return journey and imbibatious activity 1730 - 1830 moan about how shit we are, why the manager won't play Darren Bent, How weak our defence is, How anonimous our midfield is - How were never going to waste another penny on them again 1830 Commence alcohol induced singing and talking bollocks all the way home 2130 Arrive home and head straight for the pub - discuss how shit we are and that we are ain't gonna be going ever again 2200 Alcohol induced dance off in the pub followed by argument about who wins 2300 Arrange who is going to get the tickets for QPR AND Norwich 0000 Collapse into a coma with the wife sarcastically asking if I've had a good time but being unable to reply
  17. Both clubs will see this as a winnable game. Although the advantage will be with Norwich and the home draw

When I try to get onto VT on my Samsung. It still tells me that the site is under maintenance. Any idea why this is
  19. I was out 'entertaining ' some Norwegian colleagues last night. They were somewhat taken aback as I suddenly just up out my seat saying 'GET IN AV THAT' after I got a text saying Gabby had just scored the 4th
  20. Even none fans of SI can agree with that. I am clearly in the 'not liking SI squad'. However I also accept that if the manager is to play the diamond formation that he is currently employing then he is probably the only player in our squad equipped to play such a roll. On Saturdays evidence when he went off it changed the complete balance of the side and we just went to pot. So unfortunately I think I may have to accept that he will be part of the team for the forseeable future.
  21. In the 2nd minute of the game. watching another player do what you should be doing is unforgiveable when its something as basic as closing down
  22. He did watch Holman run passed him at least twice as Holman tried to close down the nearest man to Ireland. But amazingly the percession is that SI works hard. He only does that when a ball or player is within 5 yards of him, which afterall is to be expected.
  23. The hard working Stephen Ireland - haha the biggest urban myth going
  24. I hate everything the premiership stands for and I hate the feeling that in all likely hood its more likely that I may never see the Villa won another thing. I firmly believe that hooliganism aside football was in a much better place in the pre premiership era. Roll on the day the game implodes and we can return to proper football. For me it all about the sense of camaraderie, loyalty and friendship that exists between fellow Villans. Do I need for us to do a Man City NO WAY
