I'm fed up. He's just not a good manager. We have a squad containing Ireland, CNZ, Bent, Agbonlahor, Given plus a load of good young players and we are 15th. We could feasibly go down with the only argument to the contrary being that there are 3 worse teams than us. Probably true but our manager is massively underperforming.

McLeish OUT.

Quite. I was not one of those foaming at the mouth over his appointment or the job he was doing but yesterday took the digestive. I have absolutely no idea what on earth he was doing picking that side against a relatively vulnerable City side. I'll give him credit for Cuellar at left-back but Heskey on the wing? What kind of football does he think we are willing to put up with? He has just criminally misjudged things so poorly that his position is becoming untenable. I've finally come round to sending an SOS for Curbishley as the best option.

If there are to be any serious protests over the next few months they need to be against Mr. Randy Lerner. The whole sorry situation is of his making.

To make such protests effective we need to highlight them on Cleveland Browns message boards, too, so Randy realises that, on either side of the Atlantic, there is no place to hide.

I had a little look at that list of European top twenty clubs the other day and the amount of teams that came from cities smaller than or roughly the same size as Brum was astonishing. We are being run like a Swansea City when we should be being run like a Munich. Ellis did not have the means to get us where we should be and neither does Mr. Lerner.

It's time to do the honourable thing Mr. Lerner and get people fit to run Birmingham's major club into Villa Park. This mess is not acceptable.

25 games in :

1st season McLeish : Won 6 Drew 10 Lost 9 : 28 PTs

1st season MON : Won 6 Drew 11 Lost 8 : 29 PTs

Not much in it

Next 4 games are massive though

I think the manner of defeats in a fair few games this season is the more worrying thing.

Our peformances in front of television camera's this season have been nothing short of shocking. Just saw a Spurs fan post this on Guardian.

I've watched Villa a few times on the box and saw them at Spurs this season. Their performance could only be described as meek. I was robbed of the joy of victory because how can you claim to have beaten someone if they haven't even tried to play? Wigan, Wolves, Blackburn et al maybe at the bottom but they cannot be faulted for effort. Villa were pathetic. They play as if Mccleish has instructed them to Get out there, roll over, and die.

What's strange is they actually have a good squad of players. Villa fans-what the **** is going on over there?

When trying to defend McLiesh this past week, I wasn't expecting him to revert back to the way set up the team vs Spurs again. I thought he had learnt from his mistakes. Really can't defend some our performances under McLiesh.

What do people recon it would take for McLiesh to get sacked?

I dont think RL has the bollocks to sack him. He's too stuborn for a start and I doubt he would want to cough up the Compo.

Randy Lerner is clueless. I just wish he had listened to the fans before making this bizzare appointment.

The MON comparisons are daft in the extreme. MON inherited a poor team near the bottom and had no preseason but was making progress in the right direction. We were moving up. McLeish had a decent preseason, the chance to bring his own players in, and a squad that finished 9th (and even though we were lucky to do so, the quality of the squad itself was at least top 8 in my opinion), and he is taking us in exactly the oppsosite direction, right down. It's all about context, not numbers on a sheet of paper.

I think we have a better team available than what MoN had for his first 25 games.

Also MON came with a background that showed we would improve under him.

Mcleish got relegated last year after spending money to strengthen Blues after a good league finish.

We should sack him at the end of the season. It's a gamble to stick but also to twist at this stage, and we won't get the calibre of replacement that we want at the moment, and so the cycle continues. It's just bleedingly obvious to me that it should be Paul Lambert.

I don't have a problem going in to games, especially against the better sides, soaking up a fair bit of pressure and then looking to spring on the break with some pace and real intent. Its pretty much how we achieved our recent top 6 finishes. Under McLeish though its simply a case of soak up the pressure get the ball up to the half way line, panic due to lack of forward options/movement, give it away and then soak up more pressure.

Mark, I'm with you when you say that you don't have a problem going into games against the top sides, looking to soak up pressure and then attack on the counter.

But you say

Under McLeish though its simply a case of soak up the pressure get the ball up to the half way line, panic due to lack of forward options/ movement, give it away and then soak up more pressure
'.

Do you really think that that's what McLeish has advised the players to do?

Is there not also a chance that it could be due to the poor movement/ lack of ability of our players?

I am sorry but it is McLeish's fault. On paper you think Bent, Keane, Albrighton, Heskey, Gardner could be pretty attacking. It quickly became apparent though as in many games this season that these players are being told that their first thought is a defensive negative one rather than a positive. You really think Bent is frequently found defending deep in our own half out of choice or that Heskey is deciding off his own back to play as a second right back, or that Gardner didn't make one run off the ball into the box, which is his natural game, because he decided he fancied a run out at as defensive midfielder, or that Albrighton spent more time running towards his own box than he did the oppositions because he forgot which way we were kicking.

All of the above meant that when Keane,a real creative player, ever got the ball he had no forward options as quite simply the players mindset was a defensive one. That all comes from the manager and has happened on numerous occasions with Ireland, Gabby, NZogbia, Keane, Bent, Albrighton, Heskey. None of those players natural instinct is to defend and be negative quite the opposite. It is as clear as the nose on Phil Thompsons face that McLeish is frequently sending the players out with a negative defensive minded attitude. Teams will reflect the manger and his philosophy on how the game should be played and ours is no different.

Is anyone else losing interest at a rapid rate?

Yep, big time. ST Holder, didn't go yesterday because I didn't fancy the 150 mile round trip to watch (in the freezing cold) what I knew would be another limp peformance against one of the big guns, and opted to stay in and watch the game on sky whilst eating Fajita's with the heating on.

Not interested in anyone who thinks because of that I'm a rubbish supporter, the fact is, Randy already has my money...

Chicken or beef fajitas ?

Chicken sir!
