tinker Posted August 29, 2013 VT Supporter Share Posted August 29, 2013 Had this STEINHART "OCEAN 1 VINTAGE red" for a few months, my first auto, which i have found a bit of a challenge winding it up and all but by enlarge I find it a lot more rewarding than a quartz watch. Any further additions to my collection will now be auto's.
Ingram85
Never been that much into watches really but been perusing this morning and found one I really really like, which never happens with wrist tickers. I think its about £1000 so I'll likely never own it but its caught my eye. Mido - Great Wall
Spoony
I have this and I'm never getting rid of it Such a reliable watch I've had this watch for 9 years for refereeing and also exams etc. You just can't beat it.

Prefer the version with the illuminator to be fair. Main reason I'm posting here though is because I find a few of you guys inspirational, I love seeing people achieve such things and I hope to have a nice watch collection one day. I plan to buy myself a pre-owned Omega or Breitling Colt when I finally graduate.

CVByrne
What about this white gold Rolex Daytona. The dial is made from an actual 4 billion year old Meteorite!!!

TrentVilla Posted May 1, 2014 Moderator Share Posted May 1, 2014 I'm a watch addict aways have been, I own far too many. My favourite is this little beauty which I have loved since the day I got it, its a 1971 Rolex Oyster Perpetual Air King.
CVByrne
Fellow addict here, or WIS (Watch Idiot Savant) as we're called. Was an aspirational purchase to get that Grail watch. You can't get any better than a Patek. I had to offload 2 Omegas (Planet Ocean & Aqua Terra) and my Milgauss GV to help fund it. That Air King is very nice, much better then the modern line which I do not like. What else ya got in your collection? My favourite watch is my beloved Navitimer World, newly on a blue croc. TrentVilla Posted May 1, 2014 Moderator Share Posted May 1, 2014 Picked up an absolute gem yesterday. A 1964 Omega Constellation with the legendary 561 moment. With original box and papers. Unmolested bar a new strap. Just started reading back over this thread and wished I hadn't, I'm literally turning green with envy here. Nice purchase. thetrees
I'm resurrecting this thread for a bit of watch porn. The Patek Philippe Calatrava, rail dial in white gold!! I'll just quote the one pic. Absolutely beautiful. I would love to own a Patek. Perhaps one day.......
CVByrne
That Omega still has original box, papers and receipt from 1964 !! was a bargain when I picked it up. It's currently on loan to a close friend back in Dublin. Refuse to sell it to him despite him willing to pay me more than I paid. Risso has some lovely pieces too, a very nice Glashutte Observer My last state of the collection was the below (the 2 on the right, the Omega and Milgauss are now sold and Patek added) Edited May 1, 2014 by CVByrne

The best thing about Patek is 99% of people don't know them or what's on your wrist unlike Rolex, Omega etc... But I know they're the greatest watch makers of them all. It's very much a watch for me. I could look at the movement for an eternity, the skill involved to make these.

Risso
That Patek is absolutely magnificent you jammy git. I need to move a few pieces on. My latest addition is the Omega black ceramic Dark Side of the Moon, which to my mind is a great piece http://www.omegawatches.com/collection/speedmaster/moonwatch/presentation/speedmaster-dark-side-of-the-moon I've also got a stainless steel Daytona (white face), a Breguet Marine and a Glashutte Original, which cover most bases. The pieces I'm going to sell on are a Breitling Navitimer, my earlier Omega Speedmaster, and a Nomos Glashutte Ahoj. Don't think they'll get me into Patek territory though.... StanBalaban
I've posted a couple of pics before, but thought I'd snap a better one just now. These are my watches: Would really like a Cartier Calibre chrono or a Tag Monaco next.
