Stephen Warnock

Another very solid performance today, in particular one 50/50 challenge in the second half epitomised his commitment to the cause.

Hopefully some will cut him some slack and judge him on his current performances on the pitch rather than what may or may not have been said and done last season.

Always been a decent player who was treated like shit by Houllier and McAllister. Glad to see he is going OK for us (well more than OK actually)

Always been a decent player

No he hasn't

Yeah he has his form just hasn't been consistent due to many different factors stretching right back to the later months of O'Neill's time.

He has always been a decent player though.

Going through a period of bad form doesn't make you a bad player or not in my opinion anyway.

think Warnock also realises if he keeps form up and gets lucky with injuries he could be going to anothe major tournament in summer

Surely injuries won't stop him buying tickets to the Olympics?

Been really impressed with Warnock this season and he was excellent again today. Fair play to the lad after the way he was mistreated last season. He has never let his head drop though and was apparently a great role model for the young lads when banished to play with the reserves the second half of last season. Kev MacDonald can't speak highly enough of him and his professional attitude.

Thought he was excellent. Many crucial bits of defensive work. There was one run by Mata which beat Cuellar and Collins, followed by a cross which beat about 4 more (Petrov, Dunne, Clark, and somebody else), but Warnock was there to challenge and get the header out. It wasn't the only good thing he did, but for me it summed up how we worked as a defensive unit and how he worked as part of it.
