CI
Personally I thought the miss at Wigan was really poor He should have drilled it low, instead he put it at a prefect height for Al Habsi to save easily
paul34
this is on the official site Darren Bent has undergone scans and he has seen a top ankle specialist this afternoon in London. He faces up to 12 weeks on the sidelines having ruptured ankle ligaments in his left foot in the game against Wigan and he is unlikely to play again this season. Dr Ian McGuinness and the Villa medical staff have been liaising with the England medical team about the extent of his injury. Darren will undergo a further examination in seven days to determine the need for an operation

PompeyVillan
I'm not one to panic, but....PANIC! Bent and Dunne out for the season. This has got relegation written all over it.
Mantis
This just means more Heskey...
picicata
McCleish is going to wish he had tried to set the team to win more of those early games, when we had our full squad to choose from, rather than playing not to lose. Now we will no doubt get the 'unlucky with injuries' BS spouted forth.
AshVilla
Do the people who still think Bent being out is a "Blessing in disguise" I'd say the odds of us being relegated will have shortened after this news Seriously bad news were now left with a wet behind the ears striker a striker who's a donkey and another one that's out of form and has just recovered from injuries Where are the goals going to come from it was hard enough before with us averaging 3 strikes on goal a game who's going to put them away No keane either who has been by miles our best player these past couple of games
Meath_Villan
All hail the power of the chuck norris of football ......emile ivanhoe heskey our fate or premiership survival lies in this prolific goal scorers hands *gulp*

LondonLax
hmmm things are looking a lot worse for us now, could be touch and go to stay up. I thought it would be a tough season but we have not got a lot of luck either. Next two games are big opportunities for points, lets hope we get 4 from there. Mantis
Theoretically it isn't too bad, because we can play Gabby up front with Ireland just behind him and Albrighton and N'Zogbia on the wings, with Petrov and Herd holding. However, McLeish won't give Ireland and N'Zogbia a look in and you just know he'll persist with Heskey on the wing. We're ****. Thanks a lot McLeish you word removed. I know it's not his fault that Bent is injured but we shouldn't even be in this position.
Guest
Thanks for the memories Darren. Sorry we aren't to the standard and promise we were when you joined. Good luck at your next more ambitious club.

foreveryoung
SSN confirming Darren bent out for rest of season, worried about England role no mention of problems it could cause villa, words removed the lot of em. Personally Im not to bothered, sometimes play better without him and i doubt he will be sold in the summer now!
theboyangel
had a feeling he'd be out for the season..... a lot now rests on Gabby and Weimman... I wonder if we'll recall Delfouneso??? I hope Bent has an uncomplicated recovery and is fighting fit for the beginning of next season, wherever we or he may be!
Stevo985 Posted February 27, 2012 VT Supporter Share Posted February 27, 2012 Was never going to be short term seeing how it twisted under him. I just hope for some reason he sees fit to stay with us past the summer. Not getting my hopes up though
