omariqy
If I was a betting man I would put a rather large amount on him staying. I'm talking my house deposit.
DeadlyDirk
It's good job that the press aren't linking Liverpool to him, I can imagine it now.... The release clause is £8m but we think our bid of £2m plus a player from our reserves is fair and we're doing them a favour offering this deal, blah blah blah.
PieFacE Posted June 29, 2015 VT Supporter Share Posted June 29, 2015 They always suspend betting overnight on volatile markets like this. I can still bet on Man City signing him, just not him staying at Villa.
LondonLax
They always suspend betting overnight on volatile markets like this. They suspend the betting because it is a market where someone can have inside information (unlike betting on a match result). If info about his transfer leaked whilst the bookies were understaffed overnight they could lose millions.
troon_villan
I can still bet on a Villa stay.
PieFacE Posted June 29, 2015 VT Supporter Share Posted June 29, 2015 (edited) They must have just suspended me from betting anymore on it.... That's not fair! Edited June 29, 2015 by PieFacE

troon_villan
Wire me £200 and I'll stick it on for ya... What a nice gesture - must be legit! Us Scots are known for our kind-hearted nature and generosity. Now wire me that money.
JAMAICAN-VILLAN
Him saying a few weeks ago he won't be telling Benteke to stay makes a bit more sense at the moment.
Ads
The betting market for player sales are tiny. If somebody put £100 on your see the odds alter drastically, one way or the other.
ender4
So what do people think the chance of him staying/going are? I'm guessing 80/20 staying.
YGabbana
I think the fact hes just bought a house in Solihull and he told omar off here that hes staying makes it 90/10 to me

PieFacE Posted June 30, 2015 VT Supporter Share Posted June 30, 2015 (edited) I think it's more 50/50 to be honest. I'm sure the pay rise, the title challenge and European football is quite appealing. However, I do think he really likes the club, he's the club captain and he's guaranteed game time which will do him wonders for his England place. Personally I think he would be mad to leave with the Euros around the corner and he has seemingly cemented his place in the team whilst playing first team football with us. I hope Sherwood can convince him there is ambition at the club. I think he should stay with us one year, get the Euros out the way, and then test himself out at a bigger club once he's an established international. His odds to Man City are so small, surely they know something? Edited June 30, 2015 by PieFacE
Supervillan78
A lot depends on this 'takeover' IMO. If we get new owners willing to invest in the playing squad, showing some ambition then that might just be enough to convince Delph to stay. If not, he's gone. Condimentalist
I'd get your money on him staying whilst you can, I fully expect him to come out and put this to bed over the next week seeing as we're back in training.
villan-scott Posted June 30, 2015 VT Supporter Share Posted June 30, 2015 It's all gone quiet, seems it was over as quick as it started. I can't see him going anywhere thankfully.
