Will they all move to Manchester away from family, friends, doctors? I would imagine it would mean huge changes for the Grealish family. Maybe they are fine with it but I’m sure it’s part of the consideration for Jack as he is very close to them. It’s not going to happen but if Jack left, imagine his dad. “Jack, I support you in whatever you do and as a father if you feel City is the right move then go for it but as a Villa fan you are dead to me, banned from this house, any contact with this family and I spit at your feet.”

Popular Post Delphinho123
Here’s where I’m at. This isn’t over yet. I don’t think a decision has been made either way by Grealish but the clock is ticking and he’ll have to make a final decision by Sunday around midday. He has offers from both Villa and Man City. Both are probably in the region of 200-250k a week. He’ll have accepted the terms from Man City, why wouldn’t he have? It’s mega money. At the end of the day his agent has done his job and got him the offer he would want from a great side like Man City and in turn, he’ll have an offer from Villa on the table. He’ll have been aware of both offers for a couple of weeks. Man City are halfway there. The next step is agreeing a fee. This is the most confusing part of the transfer because nobody is quite sure if there is a release clause or a gentleman’s agreement. Regardless of what we think as fans or what we think he’s worth, 100m is an absolutely massive offer for any player. It’s a club record for the richest club in the world for Christ’s sake. But do we accept it? Do we have a choice? I think the club will hold out for more, maybe 120m but if there is a clause or an agreement, that becomes difficult. Here comes the hope. Like I’ve said, the agent has done his job. He’s got his client two massive contract offers but Jack still hasn’t decided and I imagine he’ll want to speak to the club now having returned from holiday. I genuinely believe there will be a huge meeting at Bodymoor Heath tomorrow where we’ll get a chance to speak with Grealish and convince him once again of the project at hand. I don’t think he’ll have said he’s leaving for City and made the biggest decision of his career without sitting down face to face with Villa and informing them of the decision. He’s probably not had chance to speak face to face with the club since the end of last season. If I was a betting man, I’d put my money on him joining City but I don’t think the decision has been made yet and we’re not out of this. Either way, it’ll be done and dusted by Sunday evening. You’ll either see him sitting at a desk with a pen on Monday or standing at the Etihad in a City kit on Tuesday. He’s been our best player for a long time but I don’t buy into this idea that we owe him ‘the move’. It’s been a mutual partnership where he’s become a multi millionaire playing for England and we’re back in the Premier League. I think one day he could very well look back and regret the decision he’s about to make. 16
The Fun Factory
So City have made the move first on a player who signed a new 5 year contract last summer whereas Kane has practically put a come and get me sign in his house and still no bid?

The 5% is split between a release clause possibility or Man City bid eventually something stupid like 160m then the owners might think but not 100m or close to that. I don’t think City will bid anywhere near that and I don’t think there is a release clause or if there is, Man City won’t pay it so it would be more like 125m or something high. I wouldn’t sell whatever but I aside from that I don’t think the owners would sell and I don’t think Jack will force a move. 2

Wainy316
Well if the clubs are negotiating then that suggests we’re not settling for the initial bid. They’re not gonna negotiate is down from an existing offer are they.
ben1505
I’m assuming that Buendia was sold the vision from Aston Villa’s owners? That’s why he would have chosen us… would that vision have included holding onto our best player? Would any potential target be given reassurances by the owners? Starting to look like this might have been the case you know. I thought it was absolute bollox when similar reported, but dots seem to be connecting. Also the persistence with ESR. Agreement might have been that none of this becomes official until we have adequately replaced and managed the situation to our pleasing and long term advantage. Only a low release clause would I then be on the him leaving side and that doesn’t seem the case as it wouldn’t have been a bid from City it would’ve been an activating the clause offer. I’m with you on this , if there was a release clause which we class as low 100m ish even with COVID money issues there would definitely be more than just shiteh trying to activate it , with the long contract and spread payments nowadays lots would/ could be sniffing around
Mic09
To be fair, it's a stupid time for Jack to move. If he continues on the same trajectory, he can make this move if the Villa project fails in 12/24 months. He can get his £100m move to City at 27years of age, nothing will stop him. If he gets worse and fails to start at City, or Villa get CL football, he would have been wiser to stay. So if I was Jack I'd demand 200k a week and stay at Villa at least until 2023. 2

I maintain its a stupid decision if he does leave.
