It looked cheap, tacky and plain **** awful when Puma did it for a season to all their national teams and clubs, it only really works in the context of the MLS because they've been doing it long enough already and the garish bombast is on-brand for the American audience (okay, maybe that's a bit harsh) but **** me does it look so amateur-hour. Our badge is our identity (Heck's efforts to the contrary), we don't need the name emblazoned across the chest like some Fisher Price alphabet fridge magnets. The options should only ever be 1) chest sponsor that pays us 2) a charity we want to support 3) nothing at all (nothing at all, nothing at all... stupid sexy Flanders). Anyway, 1874 kit design I did, but updated to the new Adidas template, with the most likely crest to be used at this point. Does anyone know if we are definitely parting with BK8 for next season? We're the opposite. That means they can do collective stuff like this - I believe that (as with the NFL and most US sport) there's a collective element to the way the money gets distributed on sales of 'jerseys' so that when Miami sells a gazillion Messi shirts, some of that money goes to every team in the league - you're buying the shirt from the MLS, not from Inter Miami. I also like the fact that their kits seem co-ordinated - so there are consistent design elements across all their kits (its just that the home kit might have the bars going horizontal, the away will have them vertical and the 3rd might be diagonal and they might all be a different width). They also tend to stick pretty much to their four key colours (white, red, blue and black) - which I think we could also do pretty easily (claret, blue, yellow and white). To celebrate some of the key milestones in our history or would that be impractical/overkill? Heck was praised for his 76ers "uniforms" so I could see it.
