Posted October 8, 2023 Moderator Popular Post Share Posted October 8, 2023 Interesting that we've basically matched up with them in terms of formation - Emery saying we'll go like-for-like because we have better players perhaps. I think the five will occasionally turn into a four with Kamara dropping in with Pau left and Konsa right - I think it's fair to say Digne and Cash are going to spend a lot of time up the field. I quite like the balance in the back three - Konsa is good on the right of a three, Torres good on the left and Carlos naturally suited to being the more physical presence in the middle. Where I think we can beat them is that our midfield - with Cash and Digne out wide - can be a 2-1 with Luiz and Kamara shielding but also a 1-2 with Luiz pushing forward to join McGinn - when he does that, we'll be a sort of 3-1-4-2 which will be difficult to keep out. They've got a lot more experience than we have in this formation, but we've got super Unai Emery - let's see how it goes. 5 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
