Actually looking at those numbers it really is concerning the short amount of time from the top to the bottom of that, and there's even a close season in there that you can hardly count as being fit. That's a span of 501 playing days inclusive. 576 calendar days minus the French off-season (22/05/22 -> 04/08/22 = 75 days inclusive). In that 501 days he was injured for 225 of them. That's 45% of the time completely unavailable, and you can be sure even amongst the 276 days where he was not 'injured' he will have been coming back up to full fitness. So in the 55% of the time where he was technically available, he won't have been his full match fit self. Now perhaps his age combined with his playing style wasn't his friend. Being that explosive as a youngster can be tricky, and he will probably improve as time goes on. But you would wonder are you buying yourself a problem, both in terms of the money is now gone and can't be spent twice, and you still haven't got your upgrade on the wing.
