I don’t think this will happen as I think he’ll go to Arsenal, but if with this free transfer we ended up with a midfield selection of, say, Kamara, Dougie, Ramsey, McGinn, Buendia and Tielemans competing for four spots across the middle each week, that’s a nice position to be in. Hardly just a body. People have to get over this idea of “who does player X replace in the team and is definitely better than?” - that’s not how building a team/squad works. He’s as good as McGinn, I’ve watched a lot of Leicester last few seasons as neighbour supports them (any excuse for a beer and football etc). he’s tenacious, great passer not just good. Loves a tackle, but he definitely is the engine of Leicester, it isn’t Maddison. if he’s free it’s an absolute no brainer, not even worth a discussion. Adding a 30-50 million quid midfielder on a free into our squad is a no brainer, if he signs I look forward to seeing what Emery can do with him.
