Youri Tielemans

His confidence grew in the game with some lovely little flicks and tricks toward the end - he's playing really well at the moment.

They told us he was lazy, difficult to motivate, slow - they reckoned without a manager who could turn him into a human dynamo; running, pressing, covering space, fighting for balls. Unai has helped Youri find his mojo and he's loving it.

Love him further forward.

In the double pivot, not a great fit because he lacks Kamara's defensive nous and ability to carry the ball up the pitch.

But up front, he can use his quick touches and a partner like Bailey or Diaby overlapping as well as the ever present danger of launching a ball over the top or through to Watkins.

And he can also help out of possession by pressing with Ollie or dropping into the midfield when they come into our half.

Took him 5 months or so to fit into Emery's system - feels like that should be our baseline expectation for any new player. What Emery has them doing isn't simple.

That's a really good point.

A bit like players at Man City under Pep, takes most players 6-12 months to properly show their best.

He has basically replaced Buendia rather than become a rotation option in the double pivot. He must be loving his new position.  Spending years playing in central mid with Maddison having fun around the box and now showing his worth. Best short passer in our squad  . One of the best long passers in our squad  .

Shouldn't be on the second page.

Watched the goal back again.

The quickness of thought, communication and pass/interplay between him and Bailey, then McGinn was sublime filth.

* Did look shot/knackered though.

And put Ollie through for another great chance. He's such a clever footballer.

that pass he made to break the line for bailey to run on to (leading to the goal), was sublime, he didnt hesitate, received the ball, quick adjustment and split their defence.

Quality.

Also, i know there was all the hoo-ha about him not starting early in the campaign, but he has just started two of our key matches (Man City/Arsenal) and done the business, hopefully all that nonsense can be put to bed now.
