So if it stays like this what does villa need ?

Point from Liverpool or Palace.....  but if we lose then spurs need to beat both City and Sheffield and overturn the GD

If Spurs just win this 2-1, and manage a draw at City, they need a GD swing of 8 across three fixtures (them v. SHU, us v. Liverpool and Palace) which is obviously possible but a bit more unlikely. If they'd battered them 4-0 today it would be a swing of just 5 which, across three results, really isn't that much.

Of course the simplest thing to do is to beat Liverpool.

Over the course of the season Burnley have played some of the most naive football you'll ever see. Just wouldn't trust them to get anything from this as the moment they self-destruct never feels far away.

Not even that, unless there is a goal difference flip of more than 9.

In the scenario where Spurs beat City and Sheffield and we lose to Liverpool and Palace, though, a goal difference swing of 9 is not that unlikely. The GD would be within 5 if they were all just 1 goal margin results.

The key thing, though, is that Spurs need to beat City in this scenario.
