Marka Ragnos Posted September 24, 2023 VT Supporter Share Posted September 24, 2023 Something needs to be done. The sopping jerseys are demeaning to our players and the club. I actually feel sorry for the players. I'm surprised some steps haven't been taken. Can't Villa get a refund and a redesign or the contract scrapped? Considering different materials are used for replica and authentic, perhaps the replica material would be better? Like I said the other day I've no issue wearing my replica at the gym. Again I don't know what the deal with who actually makes the kits, whether it's Fanatics or Castore but is seems weird we have it so much worse than the other Castore teams.
villan-scott Posted September 24, 2023 VT Supporter Share Posted September 24, 2023 (edited) I thought second half they were fine (for the first time) - which makes me think they swapped them for fan replica kits maybe rather than the pro version at half time? If you look at the images from the Watkins goal and post match they’re not like they have been in every other match. mrchnry
Tin foil hat firmly on. Gerrard is mates with the owners of castore so maybe this is their little bit of spite for sacking him. They must know we won't renew the contract.

Yep didn't think they looked quite as bad yesterday and I only saw the second half.

Actually I bought one from the club shop about 4 or 5 years ago. They were selling unused training kit. Loved it. Reminded me of a time when the only emblem on the shirt was the club badge. I realise why they do it, but still think it turns players and fans into walking billboards. Oh for those long ago days when money didn’t dictate everything in the game. I’m getting old. TheMelvillan
Strangely, if the club jumped onto DHGate and grabbed 20 knock off Chinese numbers for the squad they would probably look better on the pitch. Not that I condone that sort of behaviour obviously i wonder if the issue will be slightly improved when the days weather changes and the players start wearing base layers underneath the shirts

GarethRDR
The only way you'd be getting a sponsor-less one is if/when match-issued shirts pop up for sale from specialist vendors (classicfootballshirts, eBay etc.) once the season's over, they won't ever be mass--produced.
The_Steve
I’m having second thoughts about even buying these shirts on sale. I do like the white one. But I dont want to be in a wet suit when out running.

Popular Post Creeper
'' Aston Villa players have told club chiefs they are unhappy with this season’s wet-look shirts, which they claim are weighing them down. Head coach Unai Emery is thought to be aware of the issue, with Villa now working with sports manufacturer Castore to try to find a solution as quickly as possible. Villa launched new home, away and third kits this season, but supporters have noticed the shirts quickly become wet through and cling to players during games due to perspiration. Telegraph Sport understands that has prompted complaints from players, who believe it to be a performance issue and have told members of the Villa hierarchy that the shirts become uncomfortable and heavy.'' 7

Davkaus
I think it might be the first of players just not wanting to play in a kit for quality reasons, I think a lot of us expected it was coming, but that's absolutely shocking
