El Ghazi scored 10 premier league goals last season and one in the league cup

This year 3 goals in 6 appearances

I’d argue it’s only three because he has only played six times.

Of course he is a limited player you only have to watch him play to see that……but he really is under estimated on here.

If we signed a player with his stats now most would be happy.

I agree

We shouldn't be giving Everton any money for Digne.

Straight swap for El Ghazi seems a fair deal.

He can be utterly useless during games though. He’s too often selfish and lazy. Plus he’s only had 1 goal in the PL this year and that was a penalty against Newcastle. His goal stats are inflated because of those PKs.

When he's in form, he's unstoppable.  Most of the time, he's completely anonymous or will dribble into the corner, lose possession, and is slow to get back on defense while in transition. It feels like playing with 10 men a lot of times.

On Everton I read earlier the most they have received for a transfer fee in the last 3 years is 1.8 million

How to badly run a club

I really feel bad for them...  Lots of similarities to the later Lerner era now.  Bad managerial appointments, over paying for poor players, not selling any on for profits, and in a bind financially.

To be fair we're almost as bad when it comes to this.

Hopefully this supposed sale of AEG will be the turning point for us making profit on players.

Yeah the crazy part is the owner he might be as inept as Lerner but he hasnt pulled the plug but still **** up

I think Rafa could have been a steady appointment for a year or two but his baggage meant it would turn sour quickly

You have forgotten Grealish so quickly. How fickle are you? 😁

Lets not judge too much, outside of Grealish, our biggest out goings in the past 5 years are:

  • Amavi - 9m (after buying him for 10m)
  • Veretout - 6m (after buying him for 9m)
  • Samatta - 5m (after buying him for 9.5m)
  • Gollini - 4m (after buying him for 4.5m)
  • Baker - 3.9m (the only one on this list we actually made a profit on, due to being a youth project)
  • Kodjia - 2.7m (after buying him for 12m)

If you go back 6 years we can include:

  • Gueye - 7.7m (after buying him for 8m)
  • Traore - 7.5m (after buying him for 9m)
  • Gestede - 6.4m (after buying him for 7.7m)

The only positive in recent times (outside of Grealish), is going back 7 years:

  • Benteke - 42m (after buying him for 8m)

My memory was Benteke was sold for 35m

Imagine the you tube vid. There would be Kenneth gifs all over the place if we never knew him. 😂
