" Because in your heart of hearts, i'm sure you know some of that is bollox. What happens if Buendia happens to be injured, suspended or loses form, the " younger hungrier players who MIGHT break through ", don't etc? What happens when we have a cup run, and want to play a strong enough squad to progress, as well as compete strongly in the PL? What happens if we happened to get Europe? ( Which we won't get with the scared to have more than one quality player in a position mentality either ) You say he has done nothing, and even though it seems a distant memory, I remember him bossing a game. He always shows flashes of brilliance even when he is poor. Comparing Coutinho and Ross Barkley is ridiculous as you half pointed out. Also, if you think the board and even Gerrard would sanction a signing purely due to someone being his " mate " I don't know what to say. Why are people shit scared of having multiple quality senior players competing for places? We have seen the rumours of what he might cost, and it isn't outlandish. Do you remember how long it took Buendia to get to where he is now? Beats me man. Same fans that want us to challenge for Europe (which we should). But for whatever reason we should do it with a thin squad even though those clubs currently in Europe have multiple high class bench options. Are we expected to spearhead some form of hypothetic budget title challenger model or something? 7
MakemineVanilla
I thought he was pretty good against Liverpool, but I wish he wouldn't shoot from distance, because it is a waste. I enjoyed his flick over the head of a Liverpool defender, which was the sort of showboating which has rarely been seen down Villa Park. Villa have a long tradition of more industrial qualities and haven't been the same since they stopped selling McGregor football boots. I think the fans would prefer to leave all that fancy stuff to them teams, in that there London, or that there Lancashire?

Rustibrooks
Commercially this is going to be a very good signing for us. We can grow our fanbase a bit more in Brazil/South America with a household name. I know he hasn't scored or had an assist recently but I'd still want him despite what others have said, I think we don't have the pressure of always having to start him he can rotate with Buendia. We won't get any money back in the future for him but that's ok in my opinion by then we should have grown as a club, hopefully playing in Europe and have a few other top quality players. Also it's nice to have a player that at any given time can get our arses out our seats with his skill and technique. Last player that did that was Tonev for us

WallisFrizz
Delighted. Having that sorted before the window opens is excellent. The complete opposite of last year when none of our targets knew whether Jack was going to stay or not.

Good point, it should help but also it may just convince Luiz and Chuk to sign new deals.
Popular Post JAMAICAN-VILLAN
Welp, doesn't matter how much people moan any more then. " Insert it's happening/happened Gif here. Lol I have also been on the fence, but have also had to knock myself in the head and ask if I'm crazy. In what world are we turning down the opportunity to sign Coutinho right now at the price?! The pros outweigh the cons here in multiple ways Now the signature is secure we have no obligation to start him over EMI either... Evil laugh " The work is done ". He’s a quality player and delighted somebody of his talent graces our squad and with more time to settle I hope is quality next season. A few years back in the bottom of the championship with a large tax bill to now signing a player like Coutinho is a great turnaround!

Keyblade
No you don't understand, he'd actually in Brazil talking to Eddie Howe and Kevin Keegan. He'll be taking the number 9 shirt even though he'll be playing in midfield with Joelinton.
