That dive from trez at the end 😂 where do you even start with that

The speed and ferocity that we surrender the initiative is alarming....we was in complete control after going ahead and completely squandered the impetus...doing all the things we have become infamous for, like giving the ball away cheaply.

We need some character, in this team, a general to pull the strings.

McGinn might be the glue in the squad but he is no leader. Thats no disrespect to him though. He is the funny cheeky one that everyone likes.

We basically need a Gerrard. A serious scary warrior

People are overreacting because we've lost to Brentford, they also beat Everton, West Ham, Wolves and Arsenal this season, so they're perfectly capable of beating teams or better than us. Obviously it's a game that we would have seen as a chance to get three points, but every team in the league loses games like this, only becomes a problem when it becomes a regular occurance. As it stands it's the only game we've lost under Gerrard where the expectation would have been to do better.

Now the anger has gone away - we really arnt a big club are we? Such rubbish deadwood, Br surprised if we even get a shot at mid tablet at this rate.

Depression has kicked in now. Give it a bit of time and u will see us for what we actually are. We will definitely finish midtable this season and should be in contention for a top half finish

Targett and Cash expected to provide it from wide we are just pissing in the wind.

This for me as well, their being asked to create and our midfield should be covering for them while their doing it. What's happening is they aren't creating enough  and our midfield aren't upto speed with covering for them, Ramsey for the first goal, just  let a runner fly passed him.

I woudn't actually rule us out beating Man Utd at home in the league or at least getting a result. We will lose games like today, but will also get a few results here and there where we're not expected to.

A very poor performance.

We had the majority of the ball but seemed to struggle to get it into the oppositions penalty area. We lack a cutting edge and we lack a leader.

What this game will have done is shown Gerrard that plenty of them are just not good enough for where we want to be.

As many have said, Trezeguet should be embarrassed by that dive. He certainly embarrassed the fans and anyone connected with AVFC.

For Steven Gerrard the work starts now.

We missed Mings. Should have been a 1-0 game, really.

Great finish by Ings but I just don’t think he offers enough physically. If we could combine Watkins’s physicality with Ings’s technical ability then we’d have a hell of a striker.

Buendia was excellent.

There were lots of okay performances that would have been a classic “away battle” if we’d come away with the point. But we were too sloppy in key moments and threw away what was largely a dominant performance without enough cutting edge.

Frustrating.

Lol at people turning on Gerrard already. Ffs, you never learn.

Oh please with this 2 steps ahead garbage. Been hearing this same tune now for months. It's a total cop out. If he's that good, he'd be playing for City. Fact is he's isn't very good. He did however at least manage one standout pass today, that resulted in a goal. Sadly he gave away possession about 15 times as well.

If you can’t see that buendias our best footballer then you’re either blind or ignorant. If he isn’t that good then our recruitment team should give you a job we could have saved ourselves 36 million quid. Luckily they know what they’re doing.  Yes he assisted our only goal today. I think a lot of our fans are unaware of the type of player he is. There’s our player ratings if you’re interested

If we are going to invest heavily in the summer we will need to shift some players on. We are very heavy in numbers and just can't keep adding to it. AEG, Trez and Hause should be definite exits. Traore, Targett, Sanson and Mings; we should listen to suitable offers and get upgrades on anyone that leaves

Slander for Mings and he wasn't even playing

Of course we're a big club. We just don't have a great team. It's that simple.

Game was there to be won. But our main issue was thinking we couldn’t lose the game from being 0-1 up. Massive error. That casual approach led to mistakes and lack of focus which let Brentford win. A draw would’ve been a disappointment but we can’t take teams for granted. We’re simply not good enough to.

Missing that bite and aggression in the middle. Luiz and McGinn passengers today. Not good enough and didn’t have enough impact on the game.

McGinn and Ramsey have to support the full backs , this is why we aren't creating from the middle. We have Douglas there who is great at nothing but decent at everything. ( Apart from challenging a player who has the ball)

Really bad result today against a Brentford team missing 5 first team players.
