Got a feeling Koeman will be interviewed. Just seems the sort they would look at, an Im sure he would come back to the premier League. Not sure if he is any good.

A big no no from me.

Was absolutely dreadful both at S'ton and Everton. (*and Barcelona)

And that's why.

His Wiki says he was a success at Southampton. Mugged Everton cause didn't by a striker to replace Lukaku.

Also as a player, top scorer for a defender 90 goals all comps, set piece specialist and European experience.

My preferred choice would Roberto Mancini , if our owners can pay off his contract with the Italian FA. Right age , full of experience been to Russia , Turkey etc after City.

Got a Richard Millie RM11 name after him too… Will definitely raised our profile in market appeal , international standing and attract better players

Tbh, although i think Deano's time is up, im not actually convinced we are gonna sack him.

However, if we did, my options to consider would be:

  • Lucian Favre - known to play an exciting style of football, and is renowned for developing and bringing through youth players.
  • Graham Potter - His style of football alone should interest most people on this forum, he is committed to a very possession based style of football, and although he has been a little hit and miss at Brighton, they do play attractive football, and tbh, to consistently keep Brighton in the PL is a decent achievement, his consistent commitment to a lovely style of play, is worth consideration by itself.
  • Paulo Fonseca - known for his attractive style of play, is also known for that style of play being quite open and conceding a few goals, good record with Roma, although nothing mind blowing.

Other available managers, or other managers to consider, who i personally wouldn't go for:

  • Koeman - not sold on him (out of work)
  • Pirlo - didnt do much of anything at Juve (out of work)
  • Nuno - heck no. (out of work)
  • Valverde - not convinced. (out of work)
  • Lampard - no thanks. (out of work)
  • Gerrard - not sure if his Rangers success, is because he is good, or Scotland is Sunday league and two team dominated, could be one or the other, or both, but i think he's unproven. (Rangers)
  • De Boer - no thanks. (out of work)
  • Gattuso - no thanks (out of work)
  • Villas Boas - no thanks (out of work)
  • Eddie Howe - dunno, but he seems to like buying Liverpool youth rejects, or general Liverpool rejects, who are terrible, no thanks. (out of work)
  • Chris Wilder - ye, no thanks (out of work)

Honourable mention:

  • Steve Bruce -

4 months ago we were smugly bragging to ourselves how fantastic our club is being run on NSWE's watch and how far we've come in the past 3 seasons.  Now?  VillaTalk is on suicide watch with all kinds of baseless claims/conspiracy theories everywhere.  Go to the Purslow thread and see baseless posts on how he's meddling in football business and that Lange is just a scout with a DoF title...  Go to the Lange thread and see people calling for his head because he signed Ings instead of a DM and masterminded pushing out Terry and ROK...  Go to the Smith thread and see all kinds of Villa versions of chemtrails and flat earth theories about bust ups with Mings, losing the dressing room, and bumbling coaching ineptness suggesting that ROK and Terry were the real brains behind the operation (conveniently forgetting that most of them blamed Terry for our defensive woes 2 seasons ago)...

VillaTalk really has become a depressing place again.  I'm probably disappearing until our form improves and the next transfer window rolls around, or Smith actually gets the sack.  My blood pressure can only go so high.  🤣

why not say, what you think is wrong?, other than saying what others say is wrong.

Its like being in the commons and saying, to hell with this Brexit, I'll come back when the debate is over.

A Forum is for voicing opinions, and the caveat is, they could be ones we don't agree with......why just listen, to what you already think yourself?

As if he'd ever leave Italy and join Villa. No a hope in hell he would
