So many wrongs, the ref saw the situation perfectly and didn't give a penalty, VAR goes in wrongly, it's not clear and obvious, then if a penalty is given the rebound shouldnät count.

But, it doesn't matter when we play so utterly bad, I think the players looked fired up, but the formation lets us down. Arteta just goes 4-4-2 so they have 2 players against 1 on the wings, it's school book stuff. Need to change right away. We have no build up play what so ever with 3 t the back. Everything is so wrong with that formation.

Ermmm - why shouldn't the rebound count ?

Makes you wonder what they’ve been doing all week. Okay we know they were sulking on Monday, but surely the resolve to go out and make amends for the wolves debacle should have been there for the rest of the week. McGinn said the players were hurt but focused and determined to put it right. Then this. It’s not looking great is it.

What's the point in the whole farce of the referee going over to the monitor when they always change their decisions, no matter what they are shown.

To sell the idea of the on pitch ref's supremacy.

The same Gary who doesn’t have the balls to say it’s not a pen so says we deserve it to losing by more so the pen is somehow ok.
He’s a **** clown, there’s a reason why he was such a failure as a manager.

Can’t argue with your second paragraph but he’s not wrong here, is he?

Smith has been relying on Grealish all this while , just checked his past results without him , it’s no surprise we are where we are …

Well too be fair we never had the players to cover the Grealish sized hole whenever he was out.
