Involved in most (if not all) of our best creative work...but has still given the ball away when attempting through balls which frustrates at times. Big season for him, needs to adds consistency, and self awareness on the ball. Really hope he has a great season with some good numbers. With JJ’s form, it was hard to put him in the best spot in this system which is that wide left position but I think the that’s his best spot in Unai’s system. Needs to have the ball facing forwards instead of trying to win duels under pressure with his back to goal. Stronger on the ball and made good decisions, he seems rejuvenated and up for this season. Will be interesting to see where he fits and how he plays with better players and better coaching. He always looked like he was on the brink of that kind of performance but just couldn’t get it over the line, maybe he has now.
