Yep.

Serious things need to be restructured in football as they said, but a 4 billion cup ain't it.

Yeah, but that isn't believable, so they might as well not have.

All these clubs signed up for a fixed League, they knew what they were doing, and they'll try something again to keep the status quo. So no, I do not accept their apology nor do I believe they are sorry.

Edit: perhaps if they change ffp to be fairer and scrap all of this coefficient rubbish for the champions League I might be a bit more charitable.

You're correct but those clubs need to stop paying 400k a week . Stop spending more than you can afford you bellends.

Yeah, I was about to say that.  An apology would be hollow but should be given.

Big fine, suspended HEAVY points deduction for their domestic league, and a temporary ban from European competition.

I think that would be a realistic punishment.

and fair as well, maybe throw in a transfer ban instead of a fine might have more impact

Man Ure also namechecked the Government. I really do wonder if they had checked all the contracts, thought they could weather the storm of anger, but genuinely didn't even consider that Government action could be taken.

Let Roma v Villareal be the Europa final, and PSG to be confirmed CL winners.

After that, ban the 6 from European competitions next year.

I don't think points deductions will happen, but that should be enough.

In terms of punishment.

Who? The fans, the players, the middle management and staff? The club? I don't think so.

Senior management? The Board? Perhaps.

The owners? Yes. The private ones and the shareholders? Yes. As these are the ones responsible for appointing the board and senior management. Though some small shareholders would be collateral damage here.

And specifically are we talking about:
Retribution -  just the pleasure of seeing the organization hurt?
Restraint - preventing them from doing this again?
Deterrence - dissuading others from trying this again?
Restoration - restoring the damage done?

Well, except for Spurs and Arsenal - they won't get European football anyway, so give them a transfer ban along with others.
