If he is leaving for the reported 5 million then questions need to be asked of Lange and Gerrard. Lange for the signing and Gerrard for his attempt to "coach" him last season when he was available for all but 4 of Gerrard games

It was almost as if we were trying to lower his value.

The profligacy at this club needs to stop.

This and sending El Ghazi on loan to sit on the bench after he hit double figures the year before is Lernernomics

Very boring, isn't it?

Very!

Clubs doing great things. Few f**k ups here and there but nobody’s perfect.

If we sell Sanson for 5m who gives a ****.? It’s a signing that didn’t work out. Why are fans getting so riled by it?

Need to get with the program

The fee we paid for Sanson was low by Premier League standards, most of our transfers with a fee involved will cost more, if not a lot more, but not all of them are going to work out, it's just the way it is, overall our success rate with transfer since promotion has been pretty good, Wesley, Sanson, and possibly Samatta are the only ones that we've paid a considerable fee for that haven't worked out, others have more than paid back what we paid for them and most would make us a profit if we were to sell them on.

So Sanson in isloation has been a waste of money, but when you're building a squad spending tens of millions on most players in that squad, it's inevitable that some of them won't work out.

It all boils down to the Gerrard appointment. Some fans are so upset with it everything the club now does is seen in a negative light. Anything positive ignored or a negative spin put on it.

All faith has been lost with what the owners and board are doing.

It ain’t about Sanson. It’s all about Gerrard.

Is a difference between having trust in the owners and trust in the playing side

The owners are great, the management team isnt

Because he is better than McGinn eho starts every week regardless because he is the managers favourite

Its why people are riled up. We are potentially losing Sanson, Luiz and Carney all to keep McGinn

This is true.  And my calling it out as one of the worst things we've handled in recent years, hopefully highlights how little else we have to really complain about at this moment in time.

Gerrard stands at a pivotal moment having not done exceptionally bad or good,  our owners are brilliant and investing everywhere, our squad is still one of the youngest in the league and has massive value, and we have a real chance to start upsetting the monopoly.

With Sanson, though,  we messed up. Like I said, if he had turned out to be a nightmare behind the scenes,  the way to handle it is to get him on the pitch (given he wasn't performing badly when called upon) and then get some value in him to sell him on.

We need to be careful given FFP is our biggest limiting factor, and Sanson is a somewhat rare, bad, example of our recent business.

We will find a similar situation with Bailey and Traoré next season if we dont give them some minutes. 5 subs hopefully helps that, but if we're competing for Europe we cant afford to play someone we don't think is going to improve our chances, unlike the situation we had this year.

No you think he is better than McGinn.

He really isn’t. Offers nothing.

Owners recruit the people / management team etc. if you think they are shit then you don’t trust the owners either who make these decisions.

We don’t know all of the factors in play though. Could be a whole host of reasons this hasn’t worked out that we didn’t foresee. Deano didn’t play him either after speaking highly of him.
Im gutted because I think Sanson is quality. Don’t want this to be one that we regret further down the line, like Veretout.

Yes, we knew that he would play no games at Everton because we can see into the future. All bad outcomes for all events are already known by our owners. So you have to wonder why - given they can see into the future - they sent El Ghazi on loan to Everton. Real head scratcher that one.

They were also very aware that the manager who wanted AEG was about to be sacked too :D

Sounds like a few of you still have PTSD from the Lerner years, especially after any mistake the club makes or things that don't work out. We are not going down that route at all and I'm very confident about that.

Sanson just didn't work out for us, Smith said he rated him but barely played him outside of injuries. Gerrard barely played him either, two different managers with different sets of coaches and none of them thinking he's better than our current midfields kind of says something.

I know Sanson was highly rated before, but we've seen numerous of examples of players that were highly rated when they were 19-25 and then tail off in their later years.
