Matty Cash

Thought he had a good match that suited his strengths. Diaz tried to take him 1v1 several times and he was up to task. Alert and aware of runner in behind and didn’t drop too deep and held the line well.

Thought he had a good game today (along with everyone else) but I’m not sure he’s suited to Emery’s style - he seems less comfortable on the ball when under pressure than most, even Konsa today was fantastic in the first half when pressed.

maybe it will come, he’s had a lot less time than many other players to work under Emery, he was away for the World Cup and Emery played less of the players who’d been away for the tournament in January, plus he’s he’s had some injuries since

Great performance considering how long he was out for.

I think some games his physical attributes make him effective and worth playing where as other games we probably need someone more technical.

If we sign a new RB in the summer he would be a great backup but not sure he would be willing to stay as a backup.

Wonder if Cash could be released tomorrow to really fly forward.

He's got the legs Digne and Young don't so could provide a bit of drive if we were to switch our main attacking side.

Perhaps but he isn’t great going forward anyway.

This. Not enough composure and can only beat a man if there's a load of space to run in behind.

Utter rubbish! He did nothing wrong today. Great tackles, great pressing, was held back for their goal, which slowed him down, hence his leg playing them onside. His tackle and block, only for a late offside flag to be raised, was epic. He was marking two excellent players in Enciso and then Mitoma and did a damn good job too. If Unai thought otherwise he would have changed him quickly if he wasn't playing well, especially as there were two players on the bench who could have replaced him.

Cash has become a target for people's 'opinions', calling him rubbish based on nothing. When he has been fit he has clearly been Unai's preferred right back, but of course, you know better, he's crap and needs to be sold. Utter tosh!

He looked better in the second half but his shortcomings and lack of pace are holding him back. The RB position is going to be addressed for sure - but we need better competition if he’s to stay.

You could tell that he’s been out injured and struggled with the fact he got caught out a couple of times but in the second half he handled Mitoma with ease.

Wouldn't have said with ease.
