AshVilla
I would Chrisene his call up to the first team by giving him 20 mins against Norwich tomorrow.
HalfTimePost
Wonder if his call up has anything to do with which First Teamer got Covid, as it's pretty rapid from us having Swinkels at LB for a while just because Chrisene was out and then as soon as he's back he's in the first team. Wonder if it was Targett, Hause or Young who might otherwise cover LB

ZL-
Exciting stuff, I remember a comment last season that out of the FA youth cup winning team internally Chrisene was regarded as the most talented of the lot I'm sure I also read that longer-term potentially his role being more of a number 10 / LW? Great to have another youngster blooded but for those who have watched him closely, doesn't he represent the same pros/cons of Targett currently? (technically sound but perhaps lacking physicality for modern day attacking fullback). Interesting to see if LB develops as a long term role for him based on the above. Popular Post useless
Aston Villa teenager Ben Chrisene has signed a new contract at the club. The highly-regarded 18-year-old made his first-team debut in Villa’s FA Cup third-round tie against Liverpool last January, penning a professional contract just days later. Chrisene duly went on to help the Young Lions celebrate FA Youth Cup success in May 2021, netting the opening goal in the final. The England Under-17 international spent the first few months of this season on the sidelines but has recently returned to action. Academy manager Mark Harrison said: “We are delighted that Ben has signed a new extended contract with us. “Since he joined us, Ben has continued to develop and this is just reward for the progression he has made, but also shows the belief and commitment we have in his potential. “This contract will hopefully give him the platform to work towards that transition of becoming a first-team player. “But, as like with all young players, this will only be achieved with continued hard work and the right mentality.” Congratulations, Ben! I dont think he played much football this season due to his injury and only recently come back. He needs gametime. I think its best to keep him in the U23 this season so he can find some fitness, form and confidence. Then loan him out next season Happy he signed a new deal looks a big talent
OutByEaster? Posted January 24, 2022 Moderator Share Posted January 24, 2022 A thing from tonight - he's grown - he's a big unit now - he's up on six feet and he's got shoulders like a barn door. Good recovery pace and that lovely calmness on the ball too. He can go a long way.

Not sure he was specifically a DM though. (I know you're joking)
Kuwabatake Sanjuro
He should be a bigger part of the first team squad now with Targett gone, be great if it is a case that he has impressed in training meaning that losing Targett is not such a big deal.
