He's got the talent, physique and skill but he's chronically lazy. Just walks around the pitch and occasionally ambles into a position to receive the ball. I dont know who was coaching him but they should have been screaming at him to get that laziness out of his game.

You would hate Messi at Villa then

18 year old Messi that definitely didn't stroll anywhere, or the current version that earnt a little trust with his 1,000+ goal contributions and 7 Ballon d'Ors?

Not a slight against him at all . Personal performance was okay even more for an 18 year old against esteemed opposition.

He shouldn't have been introduced and certainly not for an out and out DM as we we are well on our way to a brilliant point.

Was an odd one that wasn't it. Especially when Douglas was excelling in the 8 role, and we had Chambers and Iroegbunam sitting on the bench.

i just think he's got a languid style about him, looks lazy and relaxed when he's not, he's like the opposite of mcginn who permanently looks like he's busting a gut and blowing out of his ass

got a touch of ozil about him, it will be a stick to beat him with his whole career

That's pretty much all McGinn has though

Chambers was not the person to come on in that position.

Why.

And also the fact that Tim has only just made his debut is pretty irrelevant given how highly thought of he is, and how good he's looked so far.

I think that Liverpool midfield would have ran rings around Chambers. He is very immobile and turns a bit like the Titanic. He was fine against Burnley because let's face it, they're not blessed with nippy agile players. Keita, Jones or Thiago would have shown him up IMO.

Second highest number of pressures per 90 in the squad for the season, but don't let that stop throwing out completely unfounded accusations about a young lad with a relaxed looking style.

Don't they just hate it when facts get in the way of complete bullshit?

The pace of the game, Luiz was the better option for 6. Liverpool do fast passing and moving. Chambers coming on would be like adding more of a 3rd CB. It would be trying to hold onto what we had type sub.

Tim has played what 90 mins of PL football and you think throwing him in at 6 in  toe to toe game with Liverpool would be fair on him? Luiz has been our starting 6 all season and if JJ was fit probably would have started the game at 6.

It's the usual fan revisionism. Luiz was caught in possession for their 2nd goal. So it has to be Gerrards fault because he should have been able to see into the future that that would happen if he moved Luiz to 6.

Has anyone stopped to think that he’s 18 and learning his trade and young players generally are inconsistent.

Just go to a thread called Jacob Ramsey and read what was written about him less than a year ago. The vast majority of people on here are reactionary impulsive posters who don't want to try understand the game anything more than the superficial level. Single moments of a game define a player not their overall performance etc..  Lists of players they "hate" and will never allow anything but a binary love or hate be their views of a player.

You just need to ignore the majority of the bile you read basically.

I mean, I'm aware the number of minutes that he has played is very low but, I've never looked at him and thought "lazy barsteward".

His appearance certainly doesn't help with the long, lanky figure, along with the general effortless movement. He looks like he's strolling about but you realise then that nobody is getting close to him.

Stop and think? Do you realise where you are here?

He'd have been fine.

He's been in the official pics a lot this last week, and the sub against Liverpool - something seems to be in the offering, whether we're trying to tempt him, or we're building up to it.
