Off topic but Trump isn't a successful businessman. He has a load of inherited money. He failed and bankrupted about 7 businesses. He lost money running a casino ffs :D

This coming from the man who advocates businessmen paying 40,000 people indefinitely out of their own pocket. I'm sure the multi-billionaire Donald Trump will be keen to hear more of your advice on how he can become a 'successful' businessman.

FFS JUST STAY AT HOME FOLKES!

I'm asking coronavirus patients if they want to die in hospital or at home

A junior doctor today issued a moving appeal to members of the public as she urged them to stay indoors and 'prevent further avoidable deaths. Dr Sanderson told Radio 4 the situation across the UK, 'is involving incredibly rapidly.'

Dr Sanderson said she was now forced to ask coronavirus patients and their loved ones whether they 'want to die in hospital, where we’re not allowed to have visitors, or if they want to die at home. 'They’re conversations that last week I cannot have imagined having.'

She also warned that while London may be the epicentre of coronavirus cases at present, the rest of the UK will soon be affected.

Ah yes. The defence of Trump.

As for paying thousands 'out of his pocket'. FIrst, nonsense. It isn't out of his own pocket. Second, if it's so difficult, why are many other companies doing it?

If it was up to the doctors they'd shut down the entire world!

'America will, again, and soon, be open for business. Very soon,' President Trump said at the daily White House coronavirus briefing Monday. 'A lot sooner than three or four months that somebody was suggesting. Lot sooner. We cannot let the cure be worse than the problem itself. We're not going to let the cure be worse than the problem.'

President Trump complained about the caution brought by health care professionals, 'I was telling them, if it was up to the doctors, they would keep it shut down, they would say "let's shut down the entire world."' You can't do that,' he said.

Trump is basing his re-election effort on a strong U.S. economy.

In the US they are approaching 50 thousands new cases and by the end of the week they probably overtake China.

I think Trump is going to have very special place in history of the United States.

I do wonder by what measure any can call a businessman with 6 bankruptcies 'successful'.

Quote

Trump has filed Chapter 11 bankruptcy for his companies six times. Three of the casino bankruptcies came during the recession of the early 1990s and the Gulf War, both of which contributed to hard times in Atlantic City, New Jersey's gambling facilities.

He also entered a Manhattan hotel and two casino holding companies into bankruptcy.

Chapter 11 bankruptcy allows companies to restructure or wipe away much of their debt to other companies, creditors, and shareholders while remaining in business but under the supervision of a bankruptcy court.

Chapter 11 is often called "reorganization" because it allows the business to emerge from the process more efficient and on good terms with its creditors.

Inherited money ain't it

But we're well off topic.

So ummm, anyone ever read this?

Unrestricted Warfare: China's Master Plan to Destroy America.

i see it’s being plugged by some conspiracy theory messages. It’s £45 in Amazon!

Ive got a copy, first written in 1999 by Colonels Qiao Liang & Wang Xiangsui.

Basically lays out China’s analysis of western conventional Revolution in Military Affairs (RMA) post-Gulf War 1991, highlights US/western myopia about the wider spectrum of conflict, then details how China can fight and win a long term competition with the US, preferably without engaging in battle.

Sun Tzu for the modern era and an enlightening read, but it doesn’t suggest China engage in bio warfare!

The States is an absolute disaster.

For once though, he’s not wrong, I mean the cure cannot be worse than the virus itself in terms of social, economic and political impacts.

I mean what if this doesn’t go away, what are we going to do? Self isolate for the rest of our lifetimes?

I’ll opt out of that thanks.

It may be the case, but do you really say that now? When the disease hasn't even peaked yet? Madness.

How about this guy? Sticking up for his president and urging his fellow senior citizens to basically go out and die to help the economy.

TX LT. GOV. DAN PATRICK

SENIORS GOTTA RISK COVID-19 FOR ECONOMY ...Rejects Social Distancing

This will put a smile on President Trump's face ... the Lt. Gov. of Texas says to hell with social distancing, because old folks should risk death by COVID-19, so the economy can start recovering.

Yes, Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick told Tucker Carlson Monday evening, "Those of us who are 70-plus, we'll take care of ourselves, but don't sacrifice the country. Don't do that. Don't ruin this great American dream."

Patrick, who acknowledged he is a grandfather, was 100 percent echoing the President's sentiment during an earlier briefing on coronavirus. Trump says he's strongly considering ending social distancing after just 2 weeks.

Yes I would, given a choice between being house bound for the rest of my life or dying -I’m sorry, but for me personally that would be some food for thought.

I have the luxury of not having kids, not really having anyone who depends on me, if I died whilst it would upset a few people I’d be no loss whatsoever to the world.

I think a lot of people probably have similar thoughts.

I mean, firstly, nobody is saying 'be housebound for the rest of your life'. This is day 1 in the UK. What Trump is suggesting, now, whilst we aren't even at peak, will kill hundreds of thousands, needlessly.

Secondly, it isn't just about you. You might not care but many others do.

You could be spreading it, without knowing to people who are vulnerable.

It's an incredibly selfish mindset to be honest. This is bigger than me or you.
