Some of my favorite options would be:

- Nedim Bajrami, Grasshoppers: Just turned 20, should be cheap as Grasshoppers have just been relegated. Might be too young/inexperienced for the squad but worth a punt even if only for the future.

- Eugeni Valderrama, Huesca: 24, was brilliant on loan last year at Albacete, more attack-minded but can cover the McGinn role.

- Andres Tello, Benevento: Only 22 and 1M on transfermarkt. I think he’s class, best days to come. Might be work permit issues (he’s Colombian) but he’s been in Italy since 2015.

- Iddrisu Baba, Mallorca: Would have been cheaper/easier if Mallorca hadn’t won promotion, still only 570K on transfermarkt. 23, mainstay in the side.

- Mikkel Damsgaard, Nordsjaelland: I rate him higher than anyone else on this list but might be too much of an attacker to cover the McGinn role perfectly (he’s absolutely not a DMC). I like him better than his more highly-rated teammate Skov Olsen. Just turned 19 two weeks ago, listed at 1.75M on transfermarkt. Might be better playing every week too rather than in a squad, so maybe we’d be better off loaning him back.

- Majeed Ashimeru, Red Bull Salzburg: Spent last year on loan at St. Gallen and impressed as much as any player in Switzerland the times I watched. Only 21, cheap, again more attacking but fits a box-to-box role, runs all day. He’s Ghanaian, might have WP issues (been in Austria since 2017).

- Sebastian Vasiliadis, Paderborn: Like Baba, won’t be as cheap as Paderborn have been promoted to the Bundesliga and he might fancy another year with them. Of everyone on this list he reminds me the most of McGinn.

- Domagoj Pavicic, Rijeka: At 25 a little older than everyone else (and maybe older than we’d like) but I’ve rated Pavicic for a few years now and have never understood why a bigger club hasn’t come for him. Has been an ever-present since joining Rijeka from Dinamo Zagreb in 2017, industrious, good attitude, great long shot. I think he’d make a perfect squad player.

*Loads up Football Manager*

(Actually think I had Tello on FM17, in a midfield alongside Sergi Samper).

Hogan had a better goal scoring record for us 21 in 33  Maupay 37 in 85 for us.Two very different type of players Maupay is a very aggressive player who considering his size is very strong on the ball and operates better around the 6. Yard box.I was surprised DS couldn’t get Hogan back on track when he joined you and think if he wanted Maupay he would have been in for him by now as he had a great relationship with him.It would be a big step up for him in the PL and maybe Dean has doubts.

Its why I wouldn’t sign Maupay.  You would have to be a zola’ist level to be good considering his size. Is he not 5ft7 or maybe even smaller

Good shout on Tello. Speedy devil who can run for days. Certainly not ready for prime time, though. I'd almost prefer to buy him and loan him out to a Championship side.

I tend to agree you have to be very special to be successful in the premier league at 5’7”

I'm confident that we will finish above at least five of those and I think it's 50/50 with Bournemouth and Palace. We will stay up in any case.

The transfer business we have already done shows me that we have no intention of being involved in a relegation scrap this season.

It says he's 5'6" so nearly an inch shorter than Aguero. Surprisingly Fraser who was standout player last season for Bournemouth is only 5'4"
