DevonIsAPlaceOnEarth
Terrible news. A real pioneer in the changing times of football, and a real ambassador for the midlands. Thanks Cyrille.

NIVillan
A player who crossed Team boundaries in more ways than one. Fans of all West Midland teams loved Big Cyrille. I know we got him at the end of his Career but I loved seeing his name on our team sheets. RIP Big Cyrille.
Popular Post Junxs
I remember he came in to our school for a visit and speech. The next day our headmaster told us in assembly that he asked a few footballers to attend, and they all asked for money whereas Cyrille simply wouldnt entertain the idea of being paid for something so trivial. RIP big man
bannedfromHandV
Wounder, his spell at the club coincided with my becoming fully football-conscious so there are some fond memories of him in the Villa shirt

PaulC
Shocked to hear this. I watched him when he started his career at West Brom. Fantastic player particularly for West Brom and Coventry. Was past his best when he joined us but still contributed. RIP

PaulC
Sorry I posted one in other football as I always associated him more with West Brom and Coventry than us. Great player RIP
Popular Post NurembergVillan Posted January 15, 2018 Moderator Popular Post Share Posted January 15, 2018 Our family went to the same church as him when I was a kid and he was playing for Villa. He always had time for everyone, and made my day when I was in McD's with friends - he recognised me and came to say Hi. I was about 10 or 11, and that was "Officially The Coolest Thing That Had Ever Happened™". That little memory has stayed with me as a reminder that whatever you've been through, or however far you've come, you can still be nice to people. Small gestures have big impacts.
