switters Posted August 31, 2023 Share Posted August 31, 2023 The only surprise here in Southgate terms is him not bringing in Sterling back, would've thought the slightest hint of form would be enough there (was also surprised by no Mount until saw he's injured) there is really no justification to pick Henderson after his retirement move and Phillips when he's not started a serious club game for over a year. We don't have great depth of options in DM/CM currently but surely, Ward-Prowse is much more justifiable. or you could look at someone like Curtis Jones. It's also why England struggles to find anyone who can consistently score apart from Kane. What was he ever going to learn from picking Kane for the Malta game?
