Said last night he's going to give fellas who have have been traveling with the squad the last few weeks a go on Sunday. He better do. Pathetic last night. Wouldn't be at all  opposed to seeing Tshibola, Green, Hepburn-Murphy play on Sunday, why not!

Worrying thing is that he see's players on a daily basis and hasn't played or rated them. A bit worrying that after 10 games he is about to do a swift 180 - and put them in on Sunday. It reminds me of when RDM threw Kozak on - you just knew he was close to being out of ideas

Formations, tactics, approach, selection... sure they are all important but for me they are secondary issues.

The primary issue is that we have too many players that simply aren't good enough and/or don't have the right attitudes.

The likes of Hutton, Gardner, Westwood, Bacuna, Agbonlahor and Ayew are simply not contributing enough to the team performance or having sufficient impact or influence in games. For me every single one of them needs replacing.

Then there are question marks over the likes of Gollini, Elpwick, Jadinak, Grealish and at times Kodjia.

For me just about the only player beyond criticism is Amavi.

The players attitudes, performances and in some cases ability is just not good enough. We can get away with carrying a couple at home but away from home it's not enough.

Things need to change in January, Bruce needs to be given an opportunity to address the issues he inherited and which as far as I can see RDM only exacerbated.

I may not agree with every selection Bruce makes but it's fairly clear he is trying anything he can to get the most out of what he has got and what I'd imagine isn't quite as good a squad as he thought.

His public comments have had an increasing undertone of frustration, culminating in recent public warnings to unnamed players. Last night he was clearly furious, rightly so, irrespective of formation or selection the performance was abysmal.

After last night I think a few people will be struggling for much game time the rest of the season.

For me bang on the money

We have tried more permutations than a Rubik cube.

The manager IMO does not have the attributes in the individuals to change the game.....He can change the bowler, but it doesn't change the bowling.

I was watching individuals last night simply uncomfortable with the football under pressure....exactly the same against Leeds, Blues and wolves.

We have players with characters that are not up to scratch....some hide, some just fumble, some are so preoccupied with being closed down they resemble a parks player.

Spending huge sums of money won't make a jot........if we continue to buy players that add little value to the game.

We need to find what attributes the team needs ......Then find a player to fit it.

Despite all the talk of Midfield, oh and believe me I think that needs urgent surgery.....I don't think we have an adequate No9

I don't see players punching their own weight, I don't see players making space and running off the ball.....its a shambles.

Not really, it's a punishment for not turning up last night, he said as a result of players not being arsed they will be dropped for the game at the weekend so people who have been waiting for a chance whilst we were on a good run will get their chance.

I don't see it as out of ideas. I see it as plan A taking a battering and him having from today till Sat to sort out a plan B that can secure 3 points.

For all the chat about the value of his post match remarks, they are just words, I'll agree with that but I'd prefer him to come out and say that it was bollocks and if you can't be arsed to turn up then you won't play than just to say that they're an honest bunch of lads and we'll pick ourselves up and go again.

I think Jedi would actually make a brilliant sweeper!

With Chester and Baker behind him "they shall not pass".

Put Tish and/or Bacuna in front of him and we have two players capable of defense and attack back to back.

Let the rest of the team attack.

I think too much emphasis is put on formations etc as a fix for villa. For 5 plus years we have had too many players who can't execute the basics of the game at the this level. Technique, passing, work rate. Before any talk of formation comes up every player has to get his own house in order. In the space of 10 seconds last night Jedinak misplaced 2 simple passes when he was in acres of space, **** does formation got to do with that! Its basic stuff lads. It was symptomatic of his and villa's night. Chester is the only fella I'd have nailed on to start at the minute. Maybe amavi. Let the rest of the improve and show they want it.

JV, you may be on to something

I can imagine that during games where we would need a goal in the last 10/15mins that Bruce (even RDM) would go

                Gollini

      Chester        Baker

                  Jedi

Adomah Bacuna Tish Amavi

            Grealish/McC

          Gestede Kodjia

Now if Adomah and Amavi have the legs to own the L&R flanks Bacuna & Tish could be their support.

We could defend

Adomah Chester Baker Amavi

    Bacuna     Jedi      Tish

leaving Grealish McC & Kodjia to press. We couldnt counter with speed but by Grealish covering Right Kodjia covering left McC the middle we could reshape to a

                    Gollini

          Chester     Baker

                   Jedi

      Bacuna            Tish

Adomah      Grealish         Amavi

           McC        Kodjia

very easily to an attack with numbers

OT but does anyone know why he was sacked? Baffling!

Probably wanted to bring in their own choice and a so called well known name - rumoured to gianfranco  zola - amazingly poor decision .

Hopefully good for us, fans probably pissed off as well as a faction of the players creating hangover and freefall!:p

Not sure what the instructions were but Bruce made the wrong team selections again last night - tish and McCormack should have started ahead of Westwood and gabby and kodija should have been central not wide .

granted the team were awful but Bruce must take the blame equally for his team selection.

I don't think that means they deliberately ignored what he said, more like they failed to do what he asked, there's a difference for me. Any we all know footballers aren't the brightest lot. You make it sound like they're trying to sabotage him/get him sacked.

You don't know that your team team selection would've have yielded a better result though. The fans can pick the team in hindsight and criticise the manager for not doing what they would have done. Our promotion specialist, professional football manager put out a team based on what the personnel he thought would win the football match.

In hindsight he should have done something else. Maybe. But I'm takIng a different view and mostly blaming the players for last night's performance.

-----Gollini

Bacuna --- Chester --- Baker (if fit) --- Amavi

-------------- Jed --- Tish

Adomah ---- McCormack --- Grealish

------------ Kodjia -----

Take off an attacker and bring on Gardener or Westwood if the midfield is over run as presume Lyden isn't an option?
