Pretty sure the Championship would be the same as the PL where the TV broadcast rights are collective, so one team can't go and negotiate a TV deal for themselves elsewhere.

Yes, you are right. But the TV channels in China will buy any leagues that has Chinese players in the first team. Dutch league this year for example (Vitesse got 1 Chinese youth player). It is possible if Villa get 1 Chinese player next season, which is quite unlikely due to work permit. Other than that, no it is not gonna happen

I like how Hollis was asked if he would like to stay and he said hes grown to love the place. He thanked the fans for supporting the team that convinced Dr X to buy the club. Brought a tear to Hollis eye the way the fans were so positive that day. Its great to hear.

I don't know about Hollis but it certainly brought a tear to my eye when he talked about the fans against Newcastle. Well done to all that were there especially @markavfc40 and @dont_do_it_doug. and everyone else involved in organising the protests as that obviously had an impact on the day. Oh I also forgot to thank Newcastle for being nearly as crap as us.

Cheers mate. I can't speak for the others involved in AVPG but I personally don't want any praise until we have won the Prem, Champions League and have established ourselves as one of the top three clubs in the world ;)

Yeah the budget is largely whatever we need. He's just trying to say that in the best way he can not knowing his way around the English language flawlessly. If the manager comes in and wants seven players at £10 million each then we spend £70 million, I don't think there is a cap it's just whatever the case by case requires.

That is what I thought.  he seemed to be saying it could be 20m, 30m, 40m, 50m - it all depends what the manager wants.  Personally I hope he can find some money to offload some players on contracts.

Well just in case that don't happen for a few years, thank you and the rest of AVPG

It would have been a decent atmosphere anyway - being the last game and all - so all the fans deserve credit  but all your communications reinforcing the party idea and beach balls and balloons etc. really brought everyone along and made it special and that seems to have had a bearing from what Hollis said.

................So if this owner turns out to be shit I am blaming you lot for encouraging him ;)

My mate said that the FT article was a bit negative about the guy and the business he owns is loss leading?

He owns many.  i looked through the Ft and there isn't much about him or the group.  Maybe individual companies but wasn't sure of all there names.  Do we have a list of the companies in his portfolio?

I like this ALOT, have that feeling he will bring us back to the top.

A guy who is clearly a fan and knows his stuff and definitely highly intelligent. "Tony went to Harvard and MIT and was named as one of China's top 25 graduates in his national class of 1,000". Two of the worlds best universities, if not THE BEST alongside Stanford. He is extremely wealthy- "Xia is the Chairman of the Recon Group, a holding corporation that manages a portfolio of companies within China. A layman's description of the Recon Group would be that they are basically the company that owns the company that owns Walgreen/Boots (the Chinese equivalent of those pharmacies, though) as well as an absolute hatful of other brands across FIVE other sectors of business. Tony is a powerful man". Come on Tony, take us back to the glory days!

I don't think is a fan. He is a business person interested in buying a english football club and has decided Villa was the best deal on the table. I am fine with that if he invests in the club and runs it well.

This is Carson Yeung mark 2 for me.

He owns 5 controlling stakes in the HKSE? - but where is any disclosure or interest reports with him or RECON? He has just bought an internationally known football club, something had to be disclosed.

Employs 35000 people, yet not even a tidbit of information about him anywhere online in 2016. This is apparently a young genius who specialises in technology and investment, yet has no recognisable brand anywhere? Again simply not possible.

I'd love to be positive, I hope it all goes well but I'm not naive. There is more than meets the eye to this one

Its easy to see why someone would write that.

I want to see substance.

If Dr Tony was to attempt to borrow some money from the high St corporate Banks it would be interesting to see what their underwriters would say.

that would be a testimony to what we have as a new owner.

I've given him some stick, called him a puppet in our AVPG press releases amongst other things, it was all part of a wider agenda. Propaganda essentially.

That's quite a shocking admission to make, tbh.

Not really. It wasn't a lie, I truly believed it at the time.

I was wrong.

Edit - propaganda is the wrong word. I don't know what word I'm looking for.

I just watched the interview, and he looks about 10 years older than 30, do we have his age right?

He also seemed a bit shy and even nervous, which makes me like him, he's not pompous or polished and he doesn't seem like he's full of shit.

I look forward to an owner who will be visible and vocal when needed.

If we really have 50m to spend this summer...I say we bring Tekkers back for the promotion push, wouldn't that be great?!
